On paper I think we’ve done pretty well. We needed to sell to buy and we got good deals for all our players out. Sara was never going to be here end of the window and the other three wanted out so happy to see them gone. Sargent still here is a massive win, he’s the best Centre forward in the division for me, getting one more year at this level is a massive difference in the potential of this team’s season. We’ve invested money purely in potential. There are a bunch of talented players now in the building and while they may not all be a success it’s an exciting strategy. We also spent big for us, a clear change of Championship direction which given our loss of parachute payments shows the increasing influence of our changing ownership. The purchases all seem part of a coherent strategy of play, I think you can clearly see why they were brought in even if it doesn’t work out. We’ve also added some interesting additions to the development team, it’s been very busy. Only slight negative for me is not getting a permanent replacement for Kamara but I’d rather we loaned than panic bought. Time for some new contracts now, Gunn in particular needs tying down. I always want to be optimistic in a window, you’ve got to give them time to see the potential turn into progress. As others have said proof of the pudding… Another 10 games and we’ll have a much better idea of how successful this window was, but I personally can’t see much wrong with what we’ve set out to do and then done. I just think saying it doesn’t reflect badly on the club in any way is a bit naive given this is a young academy graduate who decided he didn’t want to be here despite continuous dialogue to keep him.

I’m not sure that’s entirely true for some of the thoughts @Bethnal Yellow and Green put forward. While we don’t know exactly why he wanted to leave, and therefore I personally don’t see the need to be overly concerned moving forward, it’s not exactly something that can be dismissed either.
