  1. Victory for the struggling club versus the league leaders? Surely that would strengthen the brand, as you put it, to demonstrate once again that the PL is the hardest league to win in the world, largely because of the competitiveness at the top versus the bottom. Either way though, I don''t care about any brand. This game is all about getting a point. Somehow.
  2. I don''t give a sh!t if it goes in off the referees @rse, Own goal, keepers shin or even a hand. I will take anything.
  3. I remember in 1995 our penultimate home game was v Liverpool and was played amongst the Chase Out campaign. As a retort, the Halvergate One tried to drown out the chants by placing giant loud speakers in the Barclay/South Stand Corner!! It didn''t work, despite a Rob Ullathorne consolation.
  4. Don''t ignore Cardiff also!! Our battle against relegation reminds of the sort of film where the lead character summons up all his energies to defeat the big baddie, only to turn round and see 50 of his mates behind....
  5. Was: Year 1. Stabilisation in League 1 Year 2. Promotion from league 1 Year 3. Consolidation in Championship Year 4. Promotion to PL Year 5. Relegation to Championship Year 6. Promotion back to PL Year 7. Consolidation in League 1 In the event, we ended up in the Prem at the end of year 2, ie 2 years early on the plan. IF we go down, this will be at year 5, which was predicted all the way along when we were back in League 1. So if the worst does come to the worse, let''s just have a small sense of reality here. David McNally remains on track with his plan he set 4/5 years ago, one which we would have snapped up immediately. We got up to the PL early and perhaps end up getting relegated more than the immediate season we had expected. BUT, in the grand scheme of things, we remain on track with the plan. SO LETS STOP MOUTHING OFF THIS SH!T OF MCNALLY NEEDING TO RESIGN. WHAT A LOAD OF OLD TOSH, FOR SOMEONE WHO REMAINS ON TRACK WITH HIS ORIGNAL 7 YEAR PLAN HE SET IN LEAGUE 1 - LONG BEFORE WE WERE NEAR THE TOP BY THE WAY. Maybe some mistakes have been made this season, but David McNally has earned the right to maintain our faith in him. Now, where have I heard this phrase before?! If we do end up back in the Championship, the one trick we will have to learn from 9 years ago, is not to go out and but a load of Jason Jarretts, Andy Hughes, Matthieu Louis-Jeans, Carl Robinsons and Peter Thorns.
  6. *oh sh!t, I can''t handle this!!!!*
  7. Despite our fixtures remaining, let''s just remember we are still 2 points ahead with just 4 games remaining. Don''t kid yourself though that their fixtures are easy. Spurs away you would expect a home win. Hull have Arsenal at home (hopefully a defeat to make them need to win get something at Fulham) then Fulham away - it is quite conceivable that Hull could win there. They are on 36 and they will know they need to get something to put their PL safety to bed. Fulham were not great today, yet if we''d have had Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic up front today, we would have won that game - no question. Then Fulham have Stoke away - we know ourselves how difficult it is there. It''s tough. Stoke have only lost twice at home all season and only the top 5 have won more at home. Fulham will do well to get something there. Then Fulham end with Palace at home. Palace are doing very week, even though you would expect Fulham to win that game. So I predict maybe 3 or 4 points. If they only get 3, then a point somewhere along the line COULD be enough. Probably it will be a last day shoot out. Look, let''s no kid ourselves I am straw clutching here, but the moral to the story is that football is a funny old game and those Fulham fixtures broken down are not as easy as you may think. Believe guys, believe. That said, perhaps we also need to keep an eye on Cardiff also?!?! Oh shit, I handle this!!!!
  8. Pretend we are on the other side of the fence for a second. Fulham HAVE to beat us if they realistically are to stay up. They are therefore in exactly the same position as us. Despite the apparent doom, even a defeat for us would leave us 2 points clear of Fulham. Defeat for Fulham would leave them with an absolute mountain to climb. Their crowd could easily turn if we can keep them quiet, but they will be just as nervous, and probably more so, than us. I''m sure Fulham would probably rather still be our shoes. On a slightly more negative thought, just look how crucial Parker''s winning goal in the 89th minute at Carrow Rd has proved - it could be the difference some May 11th, but nothing I guess can be done now.
  9. Spoke to him at the ''party'' last Saturday and he told me he didn''t need to come off last week. It was Hughtons decision, not his Olssons. Hopefully that indicates he''s not sufficiently injured to miss the game altogether.
  10. I think we will go largely British and players that NA can trust::                        Ruddy Martin     Turner    Bennett     Olsson                       Johnson       Snodgrass              Howson Redmond                            Hoolahan                       Becchio   4-3-3 formation. Why Becchio?  Well we need to have a striker that makes life difficult for the opposition defender.  In my view, no other striker we have manages this.  Becchio will be all arms and legs, but he will compete for the ball in the air and will be able to hold it up.
  11. Yes NCOT it is offensive. If you are unsure why, then do your research. Not on this board (or anywhere for that matter) please. 5-1 helps for goal difference. Yes, we''ve still got to avoid many more bullets yet, but all good news!
  12. 2-1 Harry Kane! Bloody hell, if he can score then NCFC winning at Craven Cottage must also be possible!! #BELIEVE
  13. At least Mark Robson''s managerial experience at Barnet stands us in good stead. He was the one shovelled out the back door by Barnet to make way for Edgar Davids. For the record, I also remember him scoring against us for Charlton at the Valley in the late 90''s. He played in the Mendonca/Robinson/Hunt/Kinsella era if memory serves.
  14. 0-1 Sunderland! With Harry Kane up front, this had danger written all over it!
  15. If it''s permanent, how about Gary Holt, who is currently managing Falkirk? He worked with Adams for the U21''s, hence the link. But in the short term, probably Hucks.
  16. Great idea. Maybe Burley could be his assistant. Perhaps bring in Terry Butcher as week, to complete the dream team?
  17. Again, this is 1995 all over again. Deehan replaced by Megson (who was then a player) on a temporary basis with 5 games to go. We only picked up a point, though that wasn''t Megsons fault at that time.
  18. That''s how I read it spudgfish. For me, Adams as temp is a good decision. But Adams as Permanent at this stage is poor.
  19. Good decision. It''s a roll of the dice as we were only going one way. Even gunny won his first game in chance. The biggest question though is whether it''s permanent or not. It surely MUST be to the end of the season and take it from there. A permanent decision would be ridiculous at this stage. Bring in Hucks to help out.
  20. £6 ticket included free drink and food, which was bangers and mash, with baked beans. Can''t complain I guess, except that the free drink was either wine, fruit juice or a short. Didn''t included a beer, which was a bit annoying. Even a half would have been nice.
  21. I would actually say it''s more 1995. Been saying since November that it''s like watching a slow motion car crash - you can see what''s happening but powerless to do anything about it. We were 6th at Christmas in 1994 with seeming rosy. We did have goalscoring problems though which we''re not rectified at all, as the board believed all would be fine. In the event, we slipped down and down the table until suddenly it was too late. We bought in a temporary manager at the end of the season which also proved too little to late. Can see the comparisons to 2005 also I guess. Perhaps even 1985 was similar also as everyone believed we were safe until a similar drop of form, especially after the milk cup. Thinking about it, that''s almost every 10 years! Are we sure we aren''t in 2015? That would have symmetry to it....
  22. Turner and Pilks are not out of contract this summer - both have a year left.
