  1. I remember buying my copy from a little TV shop on St Augustine street, next door to the long gone "Staff Of Life" pub. I have a feeling that a former City player had something to do with the shop? possibly Tommy Bryceland. Can it really be 37 years ago?
  2. Colin Prophett in the 1970''s and Jon Newsome in the 1990''s
  3. Given the reasonable/ wonderful start to the reign of Gunn , Crook, Butterworth and Deehan, how long will it be before someone tries to head hunt one or all of them? Would you be sad? Would  we be entitled to any compensation to soften the blow?
  4. How about Hucks for Player/ Manager, he always seems to talk so much sense when he is being interviewed ?
  5. Mea culpa maximus, is he another highly paid loan player that will just warm the bench and never play ? And what did his agent earn ?
  6. Let''s get rid of Neil Doncaster and replace him with Sir Fred Goodwin, now there is a man who can negotiate the best terms. Seriously though, the clubs present plight can only be blamed on the succession of awful managers that the board insist on appointing.Delia and Michael know next to nothing about Football and so they pay People to run the club for them that are believed to know something about it but who obviously know nowt. We have lost a few players through the recent past that have gone on to better things, but with the exception of Martin O''Neill in the Chase era how many ex City bosses have gone on to better things? How many would you want back? Are there any who even have a job in Football, apart from Nigel Worthington and we didn''t want him  back did we?
  7. Have not had time to sign yet, I have been applying on his behalf for the Chief Executive''s  job at Newcastle. He has had plenty of rehearsal time here and it would be a nice way of saying thank-you for Glenn Roeder.
  8. We are all grown up enough to realise that in the scheme of things Football is "Only A Game". But for those of us who have achieved little in life, Football and more importantly Norwich City Football Club has given us a sense of pride and maybe insulated us from some of lifes bitter moments. Living in Norwich, we may not achieve much, but we have over the years put one over on the big boys, just enough to make life feel a little better. For my Mother, having emigrated to Australia in early 1959 and feeling Homesick, the fact that Third division Norwich had beaten First division Man Utd in the FA Cup 3rd round and that this made headlines in the Australian press, made life feel better. Over the years, we beat the mighty Man U again in 1967, we finally gained promotion to the real First division in 1972, we fought and avoided relegation in 1973 and finally got to Wembley (even if we lost). Later on putting five past Ron Saunders'' Aston Villa at Carrow Road , signing players like Martin Peters, Ted Macdougall, Mick Channon, Martin O''Neill, they all made you feel good about things and gave you a feeling of pride. It goes without saying (But I Will ) the first season in the Premier league, beating Arsenal and Chelsea away and leading the table for so long, followed by the next Season in Europe, where we actually beat Bayern Munich and actually had live TV coverage on BBC1 was maybe the highlight of it all. Since then with the exception of the Play Offs, the signing against all odds of Darren Huckerby followed by promotion to the Premiership have given us a much needed tonic now and again. Today as we stand on the edge of Division 3, for that is what it is really, having any feeling of pride for the club is difficult.I am sure that the present bunch only add to the miseries of life instead of being a distraction and the only highlights seem to be the sacking of inept Managers and the fevered speculation as to who the next inept replacement shall  be. The only time we have had a pleasant surprise was when Martin O''Neill was unveiled and look how that ended. With finances as they in the real world, it is hard to believe that Norwich City will ever achieve any success again, our recent record suggests that we will struggle against so called lower league teams and will be relegation rather than Promotion candidates next season. I sincerely hope that I am wrong but that is now the only hope I can have.
  9. Wasn''t Chris Woods originally a loan signing? It just does not seem possible that we could ever attract players of that calibre.
