1.
if hucks is injured for the southhampton game then could glen play lappin instead
Not a chance. He''s already picked Pattison and Bertrand ahead of Lappin, and Hucks recently!
2.
10 years ago we got tonked 4-0 to charlton in front of 9000 people at Carrow Road.. it was much cheaper to get in back then too... where was all that "fantastic support" then?  I still feel alot of people jumped on the bandwagon in the promotion season and bought lengthy season tickets.. next season will be a true reflection of attendances jas :)
Can''t argue with that, but the club have built up a their fanbase significantly since then, agreed in no small part to the promotion and subsequent premiership season, but the supporters have stuck by the team, now in our third mediocre championship season. I think our decent attendances against pretty uninspiring opposition backs that up too, even if there are ''kids for a quid'' deals for those games. Will be interesting to see if you''re proven right re: lengthy season tickets though. Hope not obviously! Surely most people renew year-to-year?
3. I have to agree with we8wba, even as a Barclay season ticket holder.  I do think our support is fantastic and am proud of that as a supporter, I mean given our position in October we were still getting 24-25K gates and that''s awesome at this level, for a club of our size (or any size really). The atmosphere inside the ground can be great, one exampe being the derby this year - a booming rendition of ''on the ball just after they''d scored the first - and second goals! That would put to shame anything ipsh*t can muster up! Generally though I don''t think that we''re that noisy, we''re better than many but not as great as some make out. I mean, sit anywhere but the snakepit or barclay lower tier (am hoping Jarrold will get better as the blocks towards the away fans are being made season ticket areas) and the atmosphere isn''t that great - it''s actually pretty awful in the N&P stand. Many clubs would claim that they have ''the best'' supporters. Our attendances are among the best - but i''d like to see more of the ground lending their vociferous support! In my opinion we''re bloody good, but not the best.
4.
I had to smile when I saw a large advert in yesterday''s Mirror, beseeching fans to buy tickets for Brum''s game against the mighty Chelsea today. Ok, they have about 4,000 more seats to fill than us, but I really cannot imagine there would be a solitary ticket left if we were playing Chelsea today - even if we had a 30,000 seater stadium. It makes me wonder which group of fans deserves to be in the Premiership more. It sure as heck aint Birmingham!
Completely agree! Add to the list, Wigan, Fulham, Bolton, Blackburn, Middlesbrough - all teams who regularly play in stadiums that are rarely anywhere near full, and add nothing to the Premier League whatsoever. I can never understand it when the likes of Bolton, Blackburn and Middlesbrough spend an enitire season attempting to win a place in the Uefa cup, and then when they qualify the home games are played in front of only a handful of fans who bother to turn up!
5. Well I did mean dealing with the security co. and police etc, but given the choice I''d be happy to appear in Heroes an an office cleaner!
6.

I had a dream last night that Taylor had signed (yes, I''m that sad)! But get this... I also recently had a dream that my workplace got broken into, and bugger me, it did within a week!!!!
Is that true or are you just making that up?
That is absolutely true! Unfortunately I was stuck with sorting out the mess afterwards (damn teenage-skater vandals!)! Admittedly that was my only (rubbish) preminition, but if Tiny does sign today my new-found gift will have made itself known to all!  I might even appear in an episode of Heroes or something!
7. And before anyone says anything - it wasn''t me that broke into my workplace!
8. I had a dream last night that Taylor had signed (yes, I''m that sad)! But get this... I also recently had a dream that my workplace got broken into, and bugger me, it did within a week!!!!
9. How about Nigel Quashie at West Ham? Strong, experienced, gets forward well and can pass (and is available!). Might not come cheap though.
10.
Too many people remember Holty only for his poor performances in the Prem, where he mainly looked out of his depth, but had the manager realised that sooner then he wouldn''t have look such a muppet out there each week for so long! What I''ll always remember Holty for are his season for the Play-Offs and for his partnership with Francis in the promotion push, both great examples of the way he played, as "The Reducer".  So he couldn''t pass but he was always there, hassling and harrying and popping up at the right time.  Holt wasn''t technically good, but made up for it with sheer effort and persistence.  He never gave a game up, and that made him twice the footballer of some of these young, fragile upstarts who can do 1000 keepy-ups and dribble 100 yards but then fall over and take a breather...
Can''t argue with that! I rated Safri too (especially in comparison to Robinson, Jarrett and Hughes who also graced carrow road during his time here!) but can imagine Worthy picking Holt ahead of him based on his workrate. I''m sure we all remember how Worthy used to harp on about our ''hard-working and honest players'' after we''d been well beaten!
11.
Stone, I don''t think responders are saying you did suggest we shouldn''t try and win promotion. You asked a question: "As a supporter is the premiership really where we want to be?" and then asked: "What does anyone else think?" And we told you. If you don''t want to know then better not to ask.
Woah there mate! Neither did I, it was just an additional comment to my original post (in case anyone thought I was implying that), apologies if it confused. Loved reading the responses, even if this is old ground for a lot of people. In the pub before a game or two this had come up between me and few mates recently, just seeing what everyone else thought. But then maybe I should be worrying more about the merits of league 1 than the premiership right now!
12. I never suggested we shouldn''t try and win promotion, of course we should aim to be as successful as possible - but that''s my point, at least you have the opportunity to do that in this league (this season isn''t a great example obviously!). I just don''t think being in the Premiership is as great as everyone seems to make out. I did forget to mention the amount of crap kick off times too, sometimes there are only 1 or 2 games on at 3pm Saturday and as a season ticket holder you can''t be doing with all that early Saturday, late Saturday and Sunday cr*p!
13. As a supporter is the premiership really where we want to be? We get promoted - scrap away with the other promoted teams and usual suspects to finish 4th from bottom with the aim of ''establishing ourselves'' which basically means being delighted with a mid-table finish every season, a pretty dull existence.  Of course from the club''s point of view it''s securing its financial future, maybe the thought is that by at least establishing a place in the premiership it appears more attractive to any investor who might be able to plough in millions upon millions and buy some success? As an away fan the premier league grounds are often devoid of any real atmosphere generated by the home fans (so I found at Spurs, Blackburn, Liverpool, Chelsea and Fulham) and our own stands at Carrow road become infiltrated with gloryhunters without the backbone to support thier local team. The standard of football in the championship is obviously far inferior to that of the premiership, but as a league it''s unpredictability must render it exciting? Everyone beats everyone, the teams you expect to see challenging for promotion end up scrapping for survival and vice versa. You don''t need a HUGE amount of cash to achieve success in this league and a shrewd manager can achieve it on a shoestring. The fans who attend matches aren''t there to be wowed by the oppostion but to support THEIR team. The variation in teams and grounds should be seen as a good thing, from Coventry''s Ricoh to Colchester''s Layer Road. I''ve had some awesome trips to smaller grounds where the facilities aren''t so great! The Play-offs keep the league alive and with the incentive of a Wembley final generates real excitement.   What does anyone else think?
14. I''m amazed Jewell would even have thought about coming (assuming that''s true)! Those demands don''t seem outrageous either, considering our position! The board and club (unfortunately) deserve whatever mediocrity or demise that follows.
15. Yeah, alright I wasn''t going to slate him - but I couldn''t help it. You''ll all of seen his shocking record on the home page. Tilson - massively overachieved getting Southend succesive promotions, and they punched well above their weight in the championship. They''re back in amongst them in league 1 to come up now - and all without their ''star man'' Freddy Eastwood.  Allen - Single handedly dragged brentford to decent positions in league1, when he left the club fell apart. Halted a club on the slide in MK Dons almost getting them promoted last season. Guys like that have earnt a chance. Anyway, That''s my rant over now - I''ll still get behind him on Sunday.
16. Great. Roeder! I''m not going to slate the guy, too many people have already done that (deservedly so, over the entire duration of his managerial career!!). Surely someone with a proven record of managerial failure and underachievement wasn''t what city really required! I assume Jewell wasn''t up for the job, but someone on the up, a Martin Allen or Steve Tilson would''ve at least breathed some new life and ambition through the club. This appointment is truly treadful! The board deserve whatever plight he''ll throw us into!
