Can anybody suggest why I think so? OTBC
I doubt if its anything to do with a board who have ambition. I mean you only have To look at the ooooohhh so big club called Portsmouth. They we''re massive, much bigger than Norwich and look at them now!!!!!!!!
Although Mandaric undoubtedly has ambition it may be prudent to remember that in his first three seasons at Portsmouth they finished 18th, 20th and 17th in this division. Then at the same time as the ITV Digital collapse he brought in ''arry and they stormed the league gaining their Premiership status that they have held on to ever since. Now there are many people who suggest that Mandaric is a failure without Rednapp, and although I am not convinced, this episode with Martin Allen just adds fuel to that particular fire.
And can you give me our positions under the DS please? What part of my post are you two argumentative old codgers [sn] trying to pick a fight about?[:^)]
Well i will make it a little easier for you as you clearly have trouble understanding old codgers dont you? Can you show me the comparasons between Mandaric and the saviour Delia? I  expect that you will find his ambition has payed off handsomely i also expect you to revert to more name calling if your stuck in a corner. they say the truth hurts. By calling me a codger its rather personal and ageist, by calling Delia a saviour in an Sarcastic way is making a point of my thread and questions.
 2.
Arthur Whittle wrote Promotion under PG this season-Not a hope in hell any season until the powers that be are rid of. I thought it was PG and co who took the training worked on the tactics and picked the team - so if we do badly why are the ''powers that be'' at fault ??
Have you heard the saying Bigger Picture?  This is old ground but who gives the manager limited funds ? Who decides on who the manager should be? Who sanctions the Wage budget/limits thus having a barring on the quality of players? How many other examples do you need? Who has succeeded in dumbing down Norwich fans expectations by labelling the club ''LITTLE OLE NORWICH'' even though we sell more season tickets than all of the championship clubs and half the prem? Where have we gone in the last few years under BIG D and co? Get my drift....?
 3.
Who else thinks that we pile it on a bit thick about our injury crisis? Last time I worried about having loads of first team players missing the majority all magically appeared on the Saturday. Will be interesting to see how many of the 8 players named yesterday in the EEN are missing for the Cardiff game (other than Smith & Fozzy who are long term)) Or am I being cynical?
Gets a bit tiresome. Im sick of hearing "oh Hucks is still injured and Fozzy and Smith are out" excuse. Fozzy was never a regular, Smith we know nothing about yet and Huckerby-are we a 1 man team?

Think of the Undertaker without Paul Bearer (my hero''s) and you might get my drift. OTBC.[:D]
Passion-YES YES YES. Tactical nous- Big question marks remain Promotion under PG this season-Not a hope in hell any season until the powers that be are rid of.

 8.

A-what do you think the chances are that there is an Ipswich fan called smudger? Also do you think anyone in ipswich is called Brian or Steve or is this also a ridiculous thought. and B-I thought the web team stopped all threads that went off topic? What the hell has this got to do with NCFC web team. Get a grip!
They do stop threads that go off-TOPIC. But, the topic of this is, and i quote "Smudger on twtd". So it''s COMPLETELY on topic =]
I see your point but this has got nothing to do with NCFC whatsoever! Why are the web team allowing a thread claiming a poster on here is a secret binner? This is a football forum not a school playground! Why not post it on the "its not just football" forum? Any answer web team?

 10.
Apparently, Portsmouth are ready to let him go. Yes, he''s 33 years old and yes, there are other "more attractive clubs " interested in him. Maybe there''s a way to excite him into joining a club like Norwich. Whether it''s Stefanovic or not, this is exactly the kind of tough, uncompromising kind of central defender we need to shore things up for now while we sort things out for the longer term. If the price is right, I say be bold and put a package together and go after him. Make him captain for that matter.
Oh yeah i can see the board really giving the go ahead for this one! Come on Guys 15000k a week player......i really do not understand the blind faith you have in this board. What would excite him playing for us at the Mo? Yes im being negative but this kind of quality wouldnt be interested at the mo. I mean come on even Freddy ''the wheels on my house go round and round'' Eastwood gave us a miss for the mighty W@?ves!!!!

 13.
It seems that despite all the players leaving for transfer fee''s we have spent all the money made available for replacements. PG said only a week ago that we were a few bodies short and since then we have only got Ian Murry on a free signing. Today we see PG saying he might have to delve into the loan market beacuse of our injury list. This sounds like to me we have no money left to spend despite all the profit made on transfers.
Without trying to go over to much old ground, i think you will find we are all but out of the cash now save for a little at the next TW. Again and again the season ticket sales will ring all close season and the board will tell us the same old scratched record and again people will still believe we have an all conquering team. PG is still no nearer signing a proven CB and its going to be a long slog getting anywhere near a play-off position without one imo. I dont believe this is down to PG as i think up until certain departures [Earnie,Etuthu ect ect] that must of been a prioty, but the money was later needed elsewhere.. My hope now is PG gelling average players into a strong team unit but it seems he could be someway off that at the mo.
 14.
They seem to need either (a) an age to ''settle in'' - if some ever do, or (b) an eternity to get ''match fit''. Anyone agreeing like to have a stab at solving this puzzle? Beats me. I mean look at Hucks yesterday even without a ''proper pre-season'' - 120 solid minutes plus a penalty. OTBC
Dear i suggest its mainly posters on here with a complete blindfaith in anything Delia and co scrapping the bottom of a bottle? Im still sticking with PG [although im starting to scratch my head about the defence] as i still firmly believe there is more depth in the team now although the players seem average at the mo. My worry is that maybe they will only ever be average and thats all you will get on limited funds. Prudence with ambition? well ive not seen much in the last ten or so years, maybe im reading the tables wrong!
 15.

The fact is for the first time in yrs we are now in the draw for the 3rd time.
Actually that''s the fourth season in a row we''ve reached the third round.
I remember when we got to finals, weird what we settle for now aint it.
Exactly Ricky. seems alot of the city faithful are far to easily pleased. I hope this team Gels soon because its very average at the mo.
 16. Preston away, backs to the wall for 90 minutes. Barnet backs to the wall for 45 minutes. Southampton backs to the wall for 60 minutes. Hull backs to the wall for 80 minutes. So out of a possible 370 minutes we have been on the backfoot for 275 minutes. Does not sound great does it? Hardly promotion form? Well on the plus side we have only lost 1 game but i am concerned by the amount of time we are spending defending. Now the newspapers are not biased and acording to there stats this is the problem. I am sure with time it will get better but we do not really need another season of "just settling down". perhaps its the tactics? What does make me laugh though is how many people are saying hwo much we miss huckerby. Are we now a 1 man team. PG is doing a good job i feel but i am concerned by the amount of pressure we are being put under. Lets be honest, Preston and Southampton have sold large chunks of there teams without replacements but we have supposedly replaced our departed heroes.
 17.
Just read on the BBC website that young striker Ray Jones was killed in a car accident in the early hours this morning. Tragic and deepest sympathies to family, friends and the R''s.
Tragic, i''ll second your comments.
 18.
He is called Jason Shackell.
I would argue that Shackell is decent enough but not along side the Doc where they both seem to bring out the worst in each other. So yes, Shackell has the ability but he needs a decent player along side him....dear i suggest Dublin has a shot again if funds do not permit us any new CB?
 19. Russell instead of Brellier [Is the frenchman injured?] Heart says 2-0 city, head says 2-2. cureton 1 and the other from midfield.
 20.
Partly right, in that at least you are not fooled like some of the fans who are so easily satisfied (fooled?). This guy sounds like a useful addition, but he should be in addition to some more players who we should have shown some ambition (and a cheque book if required) to sign. Where you are right in my opinion, is that we are without doubt being conned by those in charge -  Cheapskates with no ambition and no idea of how to compete in todays market. We have got some good players in this year, we should have been able to get  two or three more with the money that should have been in the transfer kitty rather than the bank. Perhaps Mr Doncaster will be brave enough to come on the board and explain the sums which show that Grant has received all the transfer money received to spend again?
Im going to agree with you on this one. PG''s done extremely well with his funds so far but i still believe the team needs more in defence. We''re not far off and thats down to PG''s shrewd dealing not the boards transfer handling which imo is now all but finished for this TW. This is a bigger season for those in charge than the manager or players so i would of thought the investment would be alot bigger but lets see where we are come chrimbo.
 21.

" the fact we are no closer to the 2 new defenders" Who says we are no nearer ? What evidence have you for that ? Nothing other than your own speculation. Specualtion that always points towards a supposed failing by the board, curiously enough. Still at least there''s a few of you singing from the same hymn sheet (or bin sheet more like).
Well ralphy boy until we know otherwise we are no closer are we not? Maybe we are looking maybe we''re not so it works both ways. My point is its getting closer to the end of the TW and we havent signed anybody yet. On a football level [im sure even you can post a comment about football instead of making snide digs] do you feel we have the complete team? Im getting pretty bored of your constant accusations of me being a binner. What evidence do you have of me being one? To use a quote from the Ralpy school of hard knocks..''Nothing but your own speculation''! I believe that to be speculation of anyone being a binner if they dont sing from YOUR song sheet Ralphy mate!!
Signed apparently, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/6960406.stm and the pinkun as well news link here What Ralph was trying to tell you was, don''t complain and attack the club because we haven''t signed anyone until the window has closed, which we may well have now done. Ralph was also stating that you have used only speculation to back your point up, which is a dangerous thing to do especially if you end up being wrong (a likely event now). No offence mate but after having a go at the club and suggesting we won''t sign anyone, you look a little silly [;)]
I take in the point your making UEA but i honestly believe we have minimul funds left [hence the free] and 2 signings are needed [maybe we are still in the hunt?] im impressed in the main with PG''s signings. Do you feel we are the complete package with Murry? Not sure myself and i would be more convinced with 1 more defender. I too was also stating that ralpys accusation of me being a binner is pure speculation with no substance so its a little rich from him blaming others for speculating. Murrys a freebie and im not doubting his ability or PG''s decision in signing him but it doesnt bode well in regards of how much we have left in the war chest. Regards

 23.

There does seem to be a small element of the support that believes that it''s bigger / more important than the club, "doing it for the good of the club", etc.  It''s what happens when you create clubs within clubs, hidden agendas arise.  I tried to warn against it at the time, it was the one thing I was most concerned about during the whole sorry episode.  An ingrained culture of protest is an unhealthy thing in a support base, it can only be detrimental to the players, most of whom weren''t here, and think they''ve joined a team with a loyal following, which of course to a large extent we have.  It does make you wonder what these "supporters" pay their money for.
This quote was on another thread but it probably warrants a thread of its own. There does seem to an element that is anti almost anything the board does that should clear off and support Man U or Chelsea because NCFC will never be able to satisfy them and it is just making them unhappy [:''(]. Me, I think we just may be on our way and at the least 2007/8 is going to be an interesting ride. OTBC
The badge is what i follow mate and that badge is bigger than any player, manager or board room staff because its our badge. If i dont feel someboby is doing the utmost best for the club/badge i have and always will say my bit.

 25.
And censorship would have nothing to do with it, eh? It would seem that there is a new desire around for us to become all nice and cuddly together and sing from the same hymn sheet. Sad. Very sad. OTBC
Agree Bly, although my posts have mellowed somewhat my feelings for the board are still the same, infact as everyday nearer to the end of the transfer window beckons im starting to get really peeved about the fact we are no closer to the 2 new defenders i believe and many others do in making us a challenging club. I dont think this is down to PG as i believe the minimul budget we have left [nowhere near as big as we were led to believe imo] is being left for the next window. I hope we are not to far away for a push by then. Im cautiously optimistic at the mo but there are still one or two niggling doubts about the team in general that i think could''ve been addressed already. Regards
