1.
I am one of the 8 who have been charged and been banned from attending football because "i caused a obstruction of the highway" and sang "we are top of the league" . I know some of the lads have been done for assult but 6 of us have been charged for singing on the way to the ground . Norwich police have spent £1000s on this case which comes out of your taxes ,it a disgrace when leeds fans can throw glasses and bottles at us and Norwich old bill dont contact yorkshire police but we get charged for singing
I hope you get off and Norwich Football Intelligence are exposed for the clowns they are. Obstructing a highway, by singing we are top of the league, is an offence, yet no Leeds fans charged, despite random attacks, verbal and physical, ranging from the young, to women, to the elderly, spitting in kids and womens faces, and even heard a couple of cases of the police refusing to act, saying it would only make things worse. yet 8 Norwich charged, 0 Leeds charged. Absoloute joke!
 2.
Count me in! Anybody who say they support NCFC, but then say they dont want to see Norwich achieve anything, annoys me, plus his other few thousand crap posts!
Agree with that, put my name down.
 3.
IverpoolLiverpool have had managers who wasted money! Thy will move up again now!
So you do admit they faded away then. Cheers thats all I wanted to know. I dont understand this discussion. Are some people seriously saying they would be gutted if we won promotion, because thats basically what you are saying by stating you dont want to be in the premier league. Oh well then, if we go 20 games unbeaten, we better start cheering on the opposition, because heaven forbid, we win promotion to that damn premier league.
 4.
think James was brought by coppel as a future coach rather than as a gk
Thats what I now said at the bottom of the last page mate. Its more of a future career move, working with/under very respected and experienced team.
 5. I think, although quite big still for the championship, James has taken a massive wage drop, so he can get into the coaching game.

I would love Norwich to go up but I am realistic enough to know that if we did it would be a struggle and like last time we would get beaten more often than win, there would also be some high points along the way and I suppose if like last time we had a chance of staying in the league on the last game of the season I would take it. But could I take it year after year in the knowledge that we cannot keep drinking in the last chance saloon. I don`t know. The days before the Premier league when the vast majority of the 1st division as it was then had a chance of winning it and also teams like Man Utd and Chelsea got relegated are never going to happen again. Maybe West Brom is the model to follow, when did they last have a tedious season? They`re either fighting to stay in the Premier or fighting to get out of the Championship But please people don`t go on about the past, It`s here and now that`s important and if that includes charging £2 for a coffee and £31 for a ticket, then so be it. PS if you disagree with me that`s fine, but it doesn`t make me an idiot
But when a team like Norwich in the Premier league season we finished 3rd, people kept saying, they will fall behind soon, they havent got the squad etc etc, but we didnt fade away. What people forget is, and this is only an example of our 3rd finsih, we were up against a man utd squad of Keane, Ince, Schemiechal, Hughes, Cantona, perhaps a Man Utd team better than what they have got now.  P.S. You are not an idiot, everyone has an opinion.
we did thats why we were in league 1 last season.
We''re talking about the 1992-3 season, not the 2008-9 season.
did utd, chelsea, arsenal etc fall away...no!
Did Liverpool fade away? yes, finished 7th last season.
thats not really fading away, there still in europe.
Liverpool went from winning or competing for the title year in year out, to top 4 champions league place, to 7th and UEFA cup qualifying rounds, are you seriously saying thats not fading away? You may be too young to recall this, but Liverpool and Man utd have switched places in the last 15 years +. Man utd would see a top 5 finish as success in the late 80s, early 90s, while Liverpool saw 2nd place as a failure. No title for, 20ish years for Liverpool, that is fading away.
 7. Can we just clear a couple of things up, particularly for I am a Banana. I didnt say Ruddy was crap, I think hes a great signing, for the championship. I said, IMO Ruddy will never be as good as James. I dont have a problem with him being loaned out, what I was saying was he has spent 7 years at Everton, played 1 game, and spent the rest of the 7 years out on loan. I also think, if it had been us who had signed James, 90% of this forum would be having a debate, as to if he was the greatest England keeper of all time.
 8. Also Chelsea when i was a young un, were a "yoyo" team. Look at them!

 10. I am a banana, I, as chops cottoned on to, was talking of fading away that season {92/93} not nearly 20 years later. Ok then I will play the game your way, did Fulham fall away after being bottom of the 4th division about 10 years ago, or did they play in the Uefa cup final last season?
 11. John Ruddys career to date. 2004–2005 Cambridge United 39 (0) 2005–2010 Everton 1 (0) 2005 → Walsall (loan) 5 (0) 2005 → Rushden & Diamonds (loan) 3 (0) 2005–2006 → Chester City (loan) 4 (0) 2006 → Stockport County (loan) 11 (0) 2007 → Wrexham (loan) 5 (0) 2007 → Bristol City (loan) 1 (0) 2008 → Stockport County (loan) 12 (0) 2009 → Crewe Alexandra (loan) 19 (0) 2009–2010 → Motherwell (loan) 34 (0) 2010– Norwich City David james career to date. 1988–1992 Watford 89 (0) 1992–1999 Liverpool 216 (0) 1999–2001 Aston Villa 67 (0) 2001–2004 West Ham United 91 (0) 2004–2006 Manchester City 93 (0) 2006–2010 Portsmouth 134 (0) 2010– Bristol City 0 (0) National team‡ 1990–1992 England U21 10 (0) 1994–1996 England B 2 (0) 1997– England 53 (0)   So by 24 {Ruddys age} David James had already been No1 at Liverpool for 3 years, while Ruddy was sent on loan to anyone who would have him. I think Ruddy will be a good signing, but there is no way he is as good or will ever be as good as David James. It was only at the age of 39, David James took a step down a league.
 12.
He''s really not that bad at all. I think it''s a good signing, at least in the short term. He did ok for England in the World Cup and he''s clearly still got some gas left in the tank. It''l be no coincidence us finding it harder to score against them this season. And for those saying how happy they are with Ruddy and how awesome a goalie he''s going to be, do me a favour? Shut up. You''ve seen him play once, if at all? The only other reason you know him is because he was involved in that 6-6 game when he was at Motherwell. I think it''s safe to say we should reserve our judgment of him until the new season properly gets under way, don''t you? I''m not saying I think he will be crap, but need I remind you, people jumped on this same bandwagon with Theoklitos last year, and look how THAT turned out. "Oh, He was A-League player of the year!" Big, effing, deal.
Great summary. The Theo bandwagon - where are they now? Ruddy done ok in the SPL, the same SPL whos top players are leaving the likes of Celtic, Rangers etc, to play at a half empty riverside stadium Middlesboro. I would like Ruddy to do well, of course I would, but im not going to go on about how good he is, when I honestly havent seen him play in a competetive game, how many of you have seen Ruddy play in a competitive game? The SPL is about League One standard, and thats being nice.
 13.
I take your point Boogle and you quoted Stoke earlier who by the look of things are actually doing things the right way maybe that could be a model to follow, but preferably not their style of football. bring on The breakaway European league then the rest of us can get on with things
Stoke, 2 mid table finishes, and aiming to break into Europe this season. Bid 12m for Carlton Cole allegedly.
 14. Thanks for pointing that out Mister Chops. Was I being thick in thinking that what understand my point? LOL. You got it, but it seemed to fly straight over Bananas head.

 16.

To get a wealthy backer you have to be doing well in the premiership. If we were to get promoted we would have to survive 3/4 seasons avoiding relegation (which would be boring)and then and only then start to aim for a mid table finish (10-15th)and whilst that is happening the top teams, utd, chelsea, liverpool etc are still going to be imporving and it will be even tougher to reach the top. Lets see what all 3 of the newly promoted teams can achieve. Newcastle have the best chance with mike ashley and his money, but I cant see 2 of them surviving. The year after the 3rd would then go down. The best way to attack the prem is to go up, get the payments(get relegated the year after) and then build a team to win the champ and spend big, and then you would have a chance of long term in the prem.
Ipswich qualified for Europe the first season the last time they went up didn''t they?  What is to say that any team can''t do the same? Ipswich were then relegated the following season when they spent a lot of money on foreign duds like Finidi George and that useless Italian keeper! I think the promoted teams that do well in the Premiership have no fear of it and have realistic ambitions of finishing in the top half in their first season and maybe sneaking in to Europe if they are lucky.  Everybody has Blackpool totally written off but I think they might just surprise a few people.  Anybody know what their price is to stay up???
Oh happy days, Finidi George, wasnt he one of the Nigerians with a dodgy passport that said he was 26 but was really in his mid 30s like Kanu?
 17.
If we were to get promoted we would have to survive 3/4 seasons avoiding relegation (which would be boring)
Yeah, im sure Stoke fans are really jealous of us.
 18.

The championship is, in my opinion, the best league as it is totally unpredictable and the best team on the game wins. The prem is split into 3/4 mini leagues so makes it less exciting. But if we were to get promoted all we would do each year is to try and avoid relegation and where is the fun in that, losing on most weeks(un supportive but most likely true). I think the best for norwich over the next few years is to be pushing for the playoffs where it will be exciting all year unlike what the prem would be like!
I assume, you are young and dont remember top 5 finshes under Brown, Stringer and Walker. Norwich would regularly go to Anfield and Old Trafford and come away with a win. More money in the game now, but people seem to forget there was money in the gmae back then, its just 3m back then is 30million now, but 3 m was  thought of as obscene amount of money, as 30m is now. Marco Van Bastan cost 4-5 Million I think, and he is the greatest striker i have ever seen, and probably will ever see, {that includes the likes of Rooney etc} yet for 5m now you would be lucky to pick up Emile Heskey. Do you remember Blackburn, challenging for the title year in and out? Man City in the 3rd Division? Newcastle bottom of the 2nd Division? Fulham bottom of the fourth division? Wigan in the confrence? Oxford and Luton in the top flight? Its all about ambition. If you are not ambitious you may as well give up. When McNally came in, I have it on good authority, that he looked at the proposal Doncaster left behind, of ''a season of consolodation in League One'' and hit the roof, and demanded an instant promotion. McNallys ambitious, Lamberts ambitious, so should us fans just sit back and settle for the championship? Should we bollox!
The best we would be is a yoyo team like WBA..not fun IMO.
Are Fulham a yoyo team? I recall them going from bottom of division 4 to The UEFA Cup final? in 10 seasons.
 19. I see both sides of the argument. We need to be ambitious, but at the same time, be reasonable. Ambition means inflated prices, but I havent got a problem with £30 for say Ispwich, Middlesboro, Pompey, but £31 for Watford? We need to find a happy medium, where the club can achive its ambitions, but not at a price which could gradually sees attendences drop. A few midtable finishes over the next 3 years, and I can see crwods dropping. Funnily enough, if we were in a relegation battle 3 years running, I think attendences would be higher than 3 midtable finishes. Im no acountent, so dont ask me how to work out a fair price, but profitable price plan.

 21. I really cant believe some of you think David James is crap. Had we been the ones who signed him, you would all be saying hes one of the best England keepers of all time. As a keeper who played at a high level locally, and had a trial, I appreciate how good he is. The only reason he got the calamity James name, was because he played for high profile clubs, and in high profile games. In 20+ years of top flight football, hes not made that many errors to justify that name, and IMO has been one of the most comanding, reliable keepers of recent years. Look how many cock ups Robert Green has made, far more than James, yet because of his City link, you all ignore that, and think hes marvelous. I could name more Green errors than James errors, and Greens, 12 years younger. This forum lacks a lot of honesty sometimes, the yellow and green spectacles seem to blind peoples views of players of other clubs. Dare I mention the word ''jealousy''?
 22.

we got ruddy instead, who is still learning and going to be better than james at his peak!
Oh come on. I hate to put a downer on any player that is associated with NCFC, but Ruddy will be better than James at his peak? Moyes is a bloody good manager, and has an eye for young talent, yet let Ruddy leave. Now I like Ruddy, and think he will do a good job in the championship, but James has been playing at the top for 20ish years for gods sake. Didnt Ruddy sign for Everton at 17, and is now 24? Hardly think hes still learning is he, if he is still learning, we would be sending him out on loan. James has made errors, but they have only been so highly documented as hes been playing in big leagues, cups etc, with big clubs and the England national team. james made a mistake in that FA Cup final against Man Utd, when he was Ruddys age. Not a meaningless SPL game, the FA cup final for Liverpool, against Man Utd. If you had said Forster, I would still be saying this. I dont think some people realise just how hard is is to be a keeper. A striker misses the target, nobody thinks much of it, a goalkeeper lets one in and gets taken to bits. James is a seriously good goalkeeper. Top clubs wanted him at the age of 39! He only went to Bristol city, because he will pick up coaching advice from coppel and his back staff. I want Ruddy to do well and think he will, but if Ruddy goes on to play in world cups, and euro championships, I will take what I said above all back.
ruddy must doing something right to get lamberts attention as lambert is looking to build for the future as ruddy is going to be part of it.
Im not saying Ruddy isnt any good, for gods sake. Im saying he will not, IMO, be a better player than David James. Ruddy, snapped up by Everton in his teens, then farmed out on loan for nearly 7 years, James signed by Liverpool in his teens, and has been one of the top flights best keepers since. Big difference. Ruddy has promise I agree, but just because lambert signed him, does not mean he will be better than David James. Lambert signed Simeon jackson, do you think Jackson will go on to be better than Jermaine Defoe? Yes of course Lambert saw something in him, or he wouldnt have bloody signed him would he. What you are missing is we are building a team for the championship.

 24. £31 is too much for this game. I think City prices have been unfair for a while, and its only due to loyal support that they have been able to get away with it. A time will come, if we dont get into the premiership, where people wont be able to justify paying that abount for 90 minutes entertainment. Cant see our attendences falling too much to be honest, but it will happen one day, like it or not. Could be worse, we could be QPR!
 25.
Nicely put Chicken.  Everything you have written there is spot on. Just to clarify that my original point was not to slag him off, nor imply that Nelson is better...
Sorry Graham, I got the wrong end of the stick.
