1. Its ok saying that Clingan wants to stay, but why not question his intentions for doing so. He left Nottm Forest on a bosman, he would do the same to us. It is common knowledge that a highly sought after bosman player gets a big big signing on fee. £1m transfer fee now, or £0 transfer fee in a year, could make Clingan £500k richer. If he really wants to stay he would come out and pledge his loyalty to the club, before stating that he would sign a contract extension. The club is doing 100% the right thing in selling both Clingan and Russell. I would be gutted if Daryl Russell was in our squad against Colchester, he is a complete liability and as somebody put it on here a "busy player"......... busy running around doing nothing.
 2.

I would be interested to see more of Troy Powell.
Great idea, instead of getting a player who scored 4 goals in 7 games in the championship last season, thats double the amount scored by Alan Lee in the same amout of games btw, when you can get somebody who played well against Fakenham.
Why not try and keep your replies relevant? I said I would be interested in seeing more of Troy Powell, 95% of people would have known immediately that I would want to see him against tougher opposition. The other 5% have nothing better to do then to twist things and turn it into a pointless and invalid argument. You are in that 5%, and thats nothing to be proud about. I am glad that my post went down well, it seems that most people are on the same wavelength about Dickinson. Like somebody else on here said..... it depends on who else we target. Personally I think that this club can do a lot better with the money. Whether or not we do is another matter and one that we must raise if we start the season with a cr*p front two.
 3.
Got some pics from the game too. Will put one on the report now.
Does Chris Lakey write that report as he goes? Maybe he needs three hands then....
 4.
I think it just shows that after last season''s absolute shower, we are all desperate to hear of any shoots of recovery, any small reason to feel positive going into the new season. I personally just thought, that ''Chris lakey providing live updates on Twitter'' might include a bit more analysis, but maybe that''s just me. Must be half time by now surely???
I bet Chris Lakey is sitting there thinking something along the lines of  "How the hell do they expect me to update Twitter on my mobile and write a match report in shorthand at the same time". You just can''t get the staff these days. What you need is a journalist that can watch a game of football, whilst updating twitter with his left hand and writing his match report with right hand. And they say that the digital age is making things more efficient! Any volunteers? No I didn''t think so!
 5. Just to correct myself...... Shrewsbury of course paid £175k for GRANT Holt! But Gary Holt is another one........ 135k he cost us.
 6. The bloke is not even worth 350k (+ add ons!), he had one good season in League Two and Derby paid over the odds for him. He was shocking at Leeds. Considering Shrewsbury only paid 175k for Gary Holt, and we could probably get Alan Lee for a similar price, I really could not care less. The Barnet right winger sounds like a much better use of funds, and I would be interested to see more of Troy Powell. Have we really been ''outbid'' by Brighton? We''ll technically we have yes, but is this because of financial restraints, or is this because we just dont believe that he is the striker to get us promoted? How much money are Brighton paying him per week? maybe, just maybe, they are paying more than they can actually afford. We are in a bad financial situation, and we are in a bad financial situation for a reason. That reason is because we have signed over rated players on big wage packets for three or four seasons now. We paid a similar price for Leon McKenzie a few years back, we paid 50k for a young Paul McVeigh, we paid 300k for a young Adam Drury, we paid 250k for Damien Francis I believe. We managed to buy Wes Hoolohan for 250k, we picked up Clingan on a bosman. We signed Marc Edworthy on a free, we signed Malky Mackay for 350k. Then look at other clubs in recent years, Scunthorpe signed Billy Sharp for 100k and sold him for £2m. The same club signed Paul Hayes on a free after he was released from us. Bryan Gunn has been at the club long enough to observe the spending habits of managers, including our shrewdest (and yes that is Nigel Worthington, hindsight is a wonderful thing) and he known damn well that if he looks around hard enough he will find some 19 year old kid who is better than the distinctly average Liam Dickinson. Gunn has taken 4 or 5 strikers on trial, probably more on the way. I would put money on at least one of those strikers doing just as well as Liam Dickinson next year. The simple fact of the matter is that 350k is a lot of money for an unproven striker. If Liam Dickinson is that good, then why hasn''t Lee Clark put up the money? Dickinson played on loan for a period at Huddersfield last year after all, people at the club would have told him about the bloke!! I would have been completely unimpressed with the Dickinson signing.
 7.
Jurgen Colin is currently a free agent, he would answer all our RB worries. The guy is different class and deserved his move to Ajax. I think we should get him back, what a guy.
Email the club then.
 8.
Do not publish the fixtures unless you want DataCo sending you offical letters.  All fixtures are Copyright and you have to pay £266 for the privelege of showing them - believe me I looked into it while setting up KIO.
Jordi -  Sorry mate, but your site is crap, and you cant expect people to visit if you aren''t even prepared to spend a fiver on a domain name. Ace - Your site is ''Ace'', im going to bookmark and sneak a peak once and a while. Cheers for doing it with no underlying motive. I have often thought about doing one, but I would without a doubt have stuck adsense all over it....... so appreciated.
 9.
Actually here''s a post I wrote the other day, it might be a bit more constructive than the above: I think it is inevitable that due to our limited finances, loan players will arrive at some point. Whilst it is unquestionable that the sheer number (and ineptitude, in some cases) of loan players last year played a big part in our relegation as it constantly disrupted the squad and destroyed any chance of continuity, used in the right way I still believe they can be useful. Certainly I think bringing in three or four loan players - for the season, preferably - would be a wise move as it will hopefully be possible to bring in quality it wouldn''t be realistic for us to buy and that can make a lot of difference in League One (Leicester used the loan system effectively last year I believe). I don''t buy into the whole "the loan players don''t care" thing either. I don''t think they "care" any more or less than contracted players. Look at Otsemobor and someone like Bertrand and tell me who you think was more interested last season? (And also we got a season-and-a-half out of Bertrand; we got the same out of Earnshaw and only a year out of Ashton and they were ''permanent'' signings.) It''s a bit of a myth to be honest. The only difference is they have no re-sale value for us (unless we loan them with an option for buying) which if they do well obviously isn''t going to do us any good financially. The key is making sure they benefit us on the pitch and not just their parent club.
Agree with this. I would have Ryan Bertrand here if it was a season long loan.
 10. I dont want to see a single loan until after the transfer deadline of 31st August. If it looks like a certain position lacks at all after that, or if any player gets a long term injury, then we should look for an appropriate loan - preferably long term too.
 11. There training ground is no colney is it? My lawn looks better than that.
 12.

McVeigh would be like the re-signings of Fleck and Cureton - another disaster.
No it wouldnt. We placed all of our hopes on those players, there is the difference. Cureton was given a three year contract and was bought to replace Earnshaw. If McVeigh is given a one year contract as a squad player, to compete with people at left wing, right wing and up front, then it doesn''t matter if it goes wrong.
So spending a season''s wages on a has been doesn''t matter? Of course not, we are flush with dosh aren''t we!!
I doubt he would want too much money, if signing McVeigh on say..... £2000 a week, means not signing Hughes on £7,000 a week.... then good
 13.
JuanVelasco is like the Pinkun''s equivilent of Graham Hunter.
I have no idea whether that is a good thing or a bad thing Big Bob...... because he does Spanish football? ha ha.... I don''t know that much about it, my nan was Spanish and lived in Malaga, so I used to catch the games as a kid.... they are my second team. Most people have another league that they are fond of?
 14.
The majority of goals from crosses are the fault of the full-backs...   ...in whatever team.
Really? What about the keepers that mess up when they come out to catch a cross? (e.g. Marshall), or the centre backs that miss the crucial header, or head it into their own net? Otsemober was at fault for the first for poor positioning (apparently),  he should have dealt with the cross.
 15.

Any idea of how their second goal came about, we ehar it was Otsemobor''s fault for the first anybodies fault for the second?
Cross from the right, diving header.
Oh right thanks, hopefully Spillane will play RB next season anyway, and we get a new LB as i think Drury isn''t good enough going forward.
Second one has nothing to do with the right back, a ''cross from the right'' means our left. Sounds to me like they are both problem positions. Both goals came from down the right side, with Otsemober being at fault for one through poor positioning. So maybe we need a new left back and a new right back?
I''ll agree they''re both problem areas, but i wrote that it PROBABLY was Otsemobor''s fault before Pete told me it was from the right.
I think that we both agree that we need a new left back and a new right back. You dont need to right in capital letters, i am fully literate and my glasses are completely up to date.

 17.
he spent the 08/09 season at FC Barcelona Atletic (Barcelona B) with a scoring ratio of 1 goal every 3 games. FC Barcelona Atletic are in Segunda Division B Group 3 now not knowing anything about the spanish leagues...what is the english equivalent to the Segunda Division B Group B? :S Confusing
Read my analysis, I have already said this!                                    La Liga (Premiership)                                   Segunda Division (Championship) Segunda Division B i.     Segunda Division B ii.    Segunda Divison B iii.   Segunda Division B iv.        -  (League One, League Two, Conference here). Its basically four divisions, teams from each of the Segunda B can win promotion to the ''championship''.....
 18. Thats like saying that every re-signing of a player is a disaster. Resigning Jason Shackell last year was not a disaster,
 19.
McVeigh would be like the re-signings of Fleck and Cureton - another disaster.
No it wouldnt. 20.

3-1 Doherty.
Ouch, sorry, i realise i was long beaten to it [:$].
Hucks has signed too[;)]
I wish.
 21.
Still on here i see Ryan?
Yes I am, it is Saturday after all and I couldn''t get to Dartford. In case you didn''t realise, I am a Norwich City fan, and we are playing today. On here for the fourth time today I see Big Bob, using up your ''two'' logins for tomorrow?
 22.
If a player does not want to play for us then Gunn should show them the door, who ever they are!!!
He will mate. Thats why Clingan and Russell are not in todays squad, thats why Fozzy was banished to the reserves and thats why Marshall was sold. I believe in Gunn, he just needs players that believe in him!
 23.
So now we know 2 of the players who do not wish to play for us anymore. Sammy Clingan.......fair enough I can understand his reasons, but Rusty ! His poor form was one of the reasons we got relegated last season. He was a shadow of the player that he was in that "Survival Winter" when Roeder first came. Think about it..... we sell him and we go up as Champions to the Premier League, he returns and we get relegated to the 3rd Division  ! I thought Russell would have been one guy who felt he owed us. Let him go now, anywhere.
Good riddance to him, a hugely over rated player that would have offered absolutely nothing to our squad had he stayed.   A ''box to box'' player, that cant really defend and cant really attack, cant really tackle, cant really pass, cant really shoot and gets sent off far to frequently for moments of petulance. I wouldn''t have wanted him here even if he wanted to stay.
 24.
Signing marshall and Chopra won''t have helped the wage bill. However you can off-load fringe players and still bring in quality and manage the wage bill.
Like giving us Paul Parry! Parry cannot get a game in his preferred position because of Joe Ledley, who is quality...... if Cardiff cannot keep hold of Ledley, then they will keep Parry.... They also have Mark Kennedy on that side as well, and Chris Burke on the right. Actually, looking at their squad...... they are much better than Coventry!
 25.
Why would he want to go to Coventry? They aren''t promotion material and in 12 months he''s a free agent. If he''s going to a Championship club I''d have thought someone like Cardiff would be the lowest he''d set his sights on as they have a realistic prospect for promotion.
I would put money on Coventry finishing above Cardiff next year..... Cardiff need to cut their wage bill, and Coventry are supposed to have a few million to spend!
