  1. Here is some good news for Burnley fans from BBC Sport Online North West''s Phil Cartwright: "One man who is not expected to move today is Burnley striker Charlie Austin. He was rumoured to be a target for a number of Premier League clubs during the transfer window, while Scottish champions Celtic said Austin would fit the bill for them if they lost Gary Hooper. But Clarets manager Sean Dyche has told BBC Radio Lancashire that Austin, who has scored 23 goals this season, will not leave Turf Moor unless the Championship club receive ''a ridiculous offer.'' Sounds like an invitation to QPR!
  2. A bit strange this one. I emailed the Football League at the beginning of Feb re prize money and received the following:   Thank you for your email.  Only the winners and runners-up in League One receive a specific amount (as listed) – 3rd to 24th receive a basic award rather than a ladder payment. Winners - £25,000, Runners-up - £10,000
  3. Born and raised in Norwich for 27 years (Earlham then Lakenham).  Moved to Ips**** because of  work 23 years ago and feel like a missionary in a foreign land! When people ask ''where do you live?, answer is always 45 miles south of the great city of NORWICH.
  4. Leeds don''t play in the league now until after next weekend. Our goal difference is now better. If we win against Brentford/Walsall WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  5. Just posted on their official site, inspection brought forward to Monday. No time stated.

I''m sure the BBC contract with Sky will be a restricted one and the amount of minutes of football action Sky will allow will be small.   Sky have nothing to do with the Beeb''s contract. It''s a seperate highlights deal. The FLS will show highlights of tonight''s Baggies/Forest game as well as tomorrows action. As has been said before the show''s running time may just be reduced.   I stand corrected!

  8. Would this be the ideal opportunity for Cullum to invest money in the club by buying the ground? Or would his previous attempt to ''help out'' and subsequent rebuff means he now has shelved any plans to get involved?
  9. Any thoughts about Lambert getting MotM award for October? With a good result tomorrow, he''s got to be in with a shout. If so, anyone nervous about the kiss-of-death the award is for the managers next match, ours being against Paulton?!?!?
  10. Haraide and Gunn. Both backed by currently-reccesion-proof Norwegian consortium plus one ex-canary who will form a forward thinking, revolutionary board intent on forging a way forward with plans to take City back into the Premiership. Delia to be invited to eat as much as she can over the next three days so she can be The Fat Lady to sing about the end of her reign and realise its over. If I''m right, I think I deserve two T-shirts!!!
  11. I wonder if we will see a situation where various club chairman will see who will ''blink first'' and hoping other clubs go into administration and then follow suit. This would allow clubs to be really stringent for two or three years and hope to push on in a few years. Of course it will still mean that incompetent boards will be able to give a sigh of relief and cover their own backsides by saying that even good clubs such as ''so-and-so have gone into admin, what chance did we have!'' Do you think it will lead to clubs amalgamating? I don''t think so as the natural way to base an amalgamation is for geographical reasons and geography normally throws up the biggest rivalries. Interesting times.
  12. Wonder if this story has any truth in it. If he goes, we could be a bit short for cover!   http://www.goal.com/en/news/744/sampdoria/2008/12/21/1022954/lupoli-transfer-saga-takes-sampdoria-twist
