  1. Mods, please lock this thread. I can''t stand to read any more of Kick it Off''s covert antisemitism. This is a place for football discussion, not ignorance.
  2. I''m down in Melbourne.  I''ve actually seen a few people wearing City shirts here, I was always in too much of a hurry to say hello though.
  3. Gregory you give every religious person a bad name.  I''m a practicing Orthodox Jew and as such take my religion very seriously.  However, I understand that there is a time and place for everything.  Whilst I wouldn''t have that signature myself and obviously don''t agree with the views of everyone on this board.  I understand that this is a FOOTBALL message board, not religious message board, be that Christian, Jewish or Muslim and as such is a forum for light-hearted banter between fellow Football fans.  If you don''t like the way in which other people interact in such an environment, go somewhere else.
  4. The Sun is saying that Mark Robins is set to be named the new boss...   http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2592968/More-of-todays-top-stories.html
  5. Thats good, sorry if I sounded like a moody SOB.  I think you are 100% correct blah, Shack was trying to make a joke.  I just opened up the message board and that was the first thing I saw.  It''s just that is a bit of a hot button topic for me, I guess I need to pull my head out of my @rse.  Back to the banter fellers.....
  6. Zionist?  Do you even know what the word means?  I am regular reader of the Pink’un message board from all the way over here in Melbourne, Australia.  I like some of the banter between posters, however I can’t understand how this thread has not been taken down.  Keep your covert anti-Semitism to yourself, it has no place here.
  7. This is a terrible idea and simply wont work.  Basically all that will happen, is that the Championship is going to be given a new name.  Given a few years, the financial gulf between the Premiership 1 and 2 will be the same as is currently seen between the Championship and the Premiership.  I am all for expanding the Premier League, however I would make a “Premier League North” and then a “Premier League South”.  That way one league won’t be superior to the other, resulting in higher TV revenue for teams in one as opposed to the other.  We could select the top 18 “Southern” teams and then the top 18 “Northern” teams.   There should certainly be relegation between the Football League and the new Premier Leagues.  Possibly 2 teams up and two down.  However League One and Two would need to be redesigned to a Football League North and South.   I think a salary cap of sorts should be instituted in the new leagues, otherwise nothing will change.  Maybe a certain percentage of clubs earnings can be used for wages/transfer fees.  This would still cause a slight imbalance between the rich and poor clubs, however it would be considerably closer than is seen at the moment.  It would also ensure teams don’t overstretch themselves putting themselves in financial jeopardy.   We would still keep 4 Champions League spots and two Uefa Cup places, 2 Champions League and 1 Uefa Cup place being given to each league.   In regards to Celtic and Rangers joining the new Leagues, I am opposed to the idea.  However if its going to happen from which they are going to benefit massively due to the increased exposure, TV revenue etc they have to pay.  They can pay 100 million each, with the money to be divided out amongst the other 34 teams in the league.  The money should be given out disproportionately with more going to the smaller teams than the larger ones.  This will help to boost the smaller teams and provide a far more competitive league.   This is just my two pence worth, I would be interested to hear what you all think.
  8. I can''t understand why Mike Walker is not being mentioned more for the Assistant Manager.  I would have thought he would be an ideal candidate; he is vastly experienced and gets along with Gunn, Crook and Deehan.  He would help us play attractive football, and more importantly he is available and sounds very keen in the Pink''un article. Granted, I am in Melbourne so I don''t always get the most up to date information, however I think Mike Walker would be great.  As for Ian Butterworth, we would probably have to pay some compensation to Hartlepool United, and to be honest I really don’t rate him.  It seems his best accomplishment was being Assistant Manager at Cardiff, and he even got sacked from that.  It’s unusual that a Manager would keep his job, yet the Assistant would get the boot. Anyway, that’s just my thoughts; I would be interested to hear what everyone else thinks.
  9. Earnie is a top class finisher, and he showed he could do it at the highest level, when it was his goals that kept WBA up the season they survived.  I am not sure if this is also true but I heard that he was the only player to score a hat trick in all the english leagues (inc premier league), the FA and League cup''s and also for his country??100% pure class!
  10. hey guys i am currently in australia and as you know Ian Crook is an assistant manager at Sydney FC.  Anyway i was watching a football show on tv the other day in which Ian Crook was a guest host, and during the conversation he was hinting that he may be moving back to England as there has been "discussions with an old club".  Maybe he was talking about coming back and teaming up with Bowen.
  11. What would you accept for the medal?   Unluckly i spotted this a bit too late, but i would be interested in buying it if you wanted to make a quick buck.
