  1. Give him a chance before slagging him off, will you? Ok, he isn''t Wayne Rooney or Micheal Owen but who did we realistically expect? It was always going to be a prem striker who can''t get in the first team, that''s the level we are at now, get used to it, get over it and get behind him, if and when he plays. I also would have liked to see McVeigh given a chance, let''s hope Worthy thinks he can do a job.
  2. All good points Zipper, except Worthy isn''t s######g his secretary and probably isn''t on £4 million a year, AND Worthy works every day AND Worthy knows what a Championship ground looks like!
  3. Wiz, I didn''t realise that it was a competition for the most replies. Is that why your post''s have become more and more extreme recently?  What''s with all the chopping and changing your mind?  Do you think any of us are happy with the start we have made? The only way forward is to get behind the team and manager, because as Spat says in his (not) tragic thread Worthy is here to stay for the time being.
  4. I think Wiz should change his name to "British Weather", as he''s that changeable.  Is it really an emergency if Leon is injured, are there other rules like squad size etc to bear in mind as well?
  5. Wrong thread Chris, but like you say, not surprising.  As regards to the original thread title, if he could perform week in week out, then I would love him back here.

  7. Rick Waghorn says 5 ''o''clock in his column today, who is right?
  8. It makes my blood boil, Mullers had talent but never could be arsed, and to be called up to represent his country and do what he has done.... words fail me to describe what I think of him right now.
  9. It''s all a bit late now. Only one and a quarter hours to go before the deadline closes, has anyone got a spy at Colney to see Worthy do the famous tour?  Sadly, I don''t think we are going to get anyone else.
  10. Due to work commitments and holiday I have been out of the loop recently, literally just seeing results on teletext and not seeing any highlights. So what I am asking you guys is what is going wrong? Who is playing well or badly and how are the new signings doing?  I have heard that Deano has missed a few chances & perhaps luck isn''t going our way but 2nd from bottom after 6 games can''t just be down to that can it?
  11. He might be persuaded because his ex team-mate Andy Hughes is here, but Reading don''t have the squad to push for an automatic promotion spot so I think he would be better off here.
  12. Thanks Owen. There you have it guys, let''s get behind him at all times.  You cannot judge a player after 2 games, how many time''s have you changed job''s and made a mistake or two in the first couple of months, only to go on to be really good and efficent at that job?
  13. We need another one of him, I think we all know that but who? The names aren''t coming to me at the moment, can anyone suggest any (realistic) names?
  14. We haven''t even played a game yet guys!!  Lets see what happens tomorrow before having a go at Worthy, we all know Fleming was out of his depth last season but let''s give him a chance to prove himself.
  15. You only have to look at Ipswich, Leeds & Forrest to see what failure to get promotion could mean.  I know we are (?) in a better financial position than some clubs, but 2 seasons in Div 1 would be difficult to bear.
  16. We hate their team I admit, but their fans are ok. I have quite a few baggie mates down here, none of them gloated about last season, I think they knew it could have easily been them going down.  Where''s ''Off the boil'' these days anyway, I always enjoyed his posts.  The WBA fans I know are not exactly brimming with confidence about this season btw, although personally I think they will finish 4th from bottom, with Wigan, Sunderland & Portsmouth coming down.
  17. The bloke with the hair & headband was Brian Kilcline. Hey, for our older viewers (ie me) what about Greg Downs?!
  18. I would love to see Damo roll his sleeves up, get stuck in and give it his all for us this season. If he does that he will be awesome, sadly I feel that he will mope about and end up in the reserves, drawing a pay cheque most of us can only dream of for doing a job we''d give our right arms to do.
  19. I think Flem and the Doc are okay at this level, Shacks is a natural born leader but I can''t see Charlie getting much of a look in, I''m afraid.  He speaks his mind and although he clearly has a football for a brain Worthy does not like his players to do that. I saw Benitez on Sky Sports yesterday saying he wants another centre-back, but where to get one?  We should be OK this season imo.
  20. Absolutely loving this. The new season only 4 days away, banter between the fans, quality new signings and the suns shining down here in Somerset.  Me and the wife split up last night mind you, but hey, football''s back!! Bit gutted AJ is staying at the Palace, but with Ashton, Hucks, Greeno, Marney and the rest, I am confident of our chances. Bring it on!!
  21. To Tim Watts,  Weston-Super-mare in Somerset!!
  22. Just read it on this site. What is Damo playing at? He''ll be left to rot in the reserves at this rate.
  23. Here we go again...... Wiz, turn your computer off and enjoy the weekend, please mate.
