  1. I thought that £1,000,000 for Geoff Horsfield was a lot of money in this day and age but to me £2,000,000 for Jason Roberts is ridiculous. Alright he''s not a bad player but he hasn''t proven that much to me i just cannot believe someone has forked out that kind of money for him. I feel this is a desparation buy, the fact that the chairman has money to burn, they''ve got a million from the sale of Horsfield and no other big names want to play for the club. Good luck to them..........except when they play us.
  2. I normally say "just leave it to the manager to decide as he knows best", but after watching recent home games Mulryne juat hasn''t performed. We all know Holts game and he does that very well but we need another midfielder next to him wwho is either going to create chances or scor goals......and Mulryne, at the minute, is doing neither, which is why i''d give Francis another start. Also it seems apparant there is a problem on the right side of midfield at the minute so i believe in the next match you''ll see a change, with either Rivers starting or Mcveigh moving over and Brennan starting.
  3. I think we just have to accept that Wiz is not a greatest Worthy fan and he''s entitlied to his opinion and yesterday''s game was just another chance for him to have a dig. We could get promoted and win the Premier League next season and he still put post''s titled ''Worthy Out''. I agree with u Mark, there''s no reason to press the panic button at the minute as it''s only the 5th game we''ve lost all season however i do feel a slight tinkering of the midfield is required eg Francis in for Mulryne, but that''s up to the manager to decide as he knows best, i mean just look where we are in the league at the minute.
  4. I''m trying not to think that far ahead at the moment because all this promotion talk could easily blow up in our faces............but it''s hard not to and i also have thought about which of our current squad would cut it in the premiership, anyway here''s who i think would and wouldn''t: Greeno - Only one answer........DEFINATELY Briggs - Unsure, haven''t seen too much of him Drury - Yes Malky - No (sorry Malky), too slow and gets caught far too often even at this level Fleming - Yes, not the quickest but positional sense is premiership class Huckerby - Some say he''s failed in the premiership but i''m sure he''d do a job for us. His pace is essential in that league. Mulryne - Tricky one this but i think he would be ok. Holt - Would get caught out by the quality of some of the Premiership players but i still feel he would do a job Iwan - Will he be here to find out? I could easily say no but his 10 minute substitute appearances have done well this season, i feel they could be just as useful in the Premiership. Zema - No, not quite up to standard i''m afraid Brennan - Another difficult one, haven''t seen too much of him yet, early signs look good though. Crighton - No Mckenzie - Will be able to comment at the end of the season when i know how many goals he''s scored, that''s what he will be judged on. Rivers - Out favour at the minute but i believe he could do a job if even in a substitute''s role. Easton - Ha ha Edworthy - has been good this season at this level but i fear he''ll get caught out in the Premiership. Mcveigh - Yes, physically maybe not but defiantely Premiership class Francis - Same as Mulryne Sinclair - Unsure, haven''t seen too much or heard too much about him Henderson - Hard to say how these youngsters will develope but on curent abilty i''d say no, but he''s young and has a lot of time to improve. Jarvis - Looks a very promising and i believe he will be a key figure for us in the years to come. One way or another he will be playing in the premiership in the next 4-5 years. Shackell - Unsure, haven''t seen too much of him but early signs look promising Lewis - From what i''ve heard the future''s looking very bright for this lad so i''d have to say yes to him, although i feel we''re looking quite a way in the future before we see his potential I believe if we do go up we''ll need another cenre half, right back, midfielder and striker...........and even then it will be difficult, but i just hope and prey we''ll find out just how well equipped we are come August.
  5. Looking at this it seems we''ve probably got 16,000 fans singing completely different lyrics to this chant, no wonder no one can understand it.
  6. Does anyone know when this is due to expire, is it at the end of this season or next???????
  7. Too much to read there mate, that''s why i doubt you''ll get many replies
  8. Don''t worry about it mate, i think you''re making a mountain out of a molehill
  9. Now that DH has gone i think we should all get behind LM and NOT expect him to do what DH has done for us.....because he wont. I suppose my point is if Leon does make a mistake and misses a chance or two the last thing we need is for some supporters to start cheering Huckerby''s name, because is the worst thing that could happen and is not going to do LM''s confidence any good. I know some people reading this are thinking " I would never do that" but I really can just picture this happening. BUT, being the optimist I am, I think Leon will do well here, he''s got an excellent goals to games ratio, albeit in the lower leagues but he''s still stuck the chances away for a poor team so providing we can create the chances for him i''m sure he''ll do well for us............and let''s make up a decent chant/song for the lad, none of this Leon Mckenzie (clap clap clap clap clap) rubbish.
  10. I''m sure you all know what i mean, especially after the performance Darren Huskerby put on show for us today, i''m absolutely gutted that was as the last we''ll see of him in a Norwich shirt. I''m sure the board did everything possible (I hope they did anyway) to keep him here but if financially bringing him here full time was out of our league well that''s life, but it still doesn''t make it any easier take, especially after we all know he would have loved to stay and for some of his breath taking performances he''s given us since he''s been here. I''m sure if Delia could afford him she would and she knows what the fans thinks of him, especially after listening to the chants today. I can only pray after seeing his performance today and hearing the crowd someone somewhere finds some cash for him (don''t worry folks, i''ll wake up in a minute). Darren, if you do read this i wish you all the best in the future.............except if it''s with one of our promotion rivals that is, now that would be hard to stomach.
  11. Were my ears deceiving me, what''s was all that about today?????????
  12. I''ll make this quick, I know DH stole the show today and rightly so but I was very impressed with Jason Shackell''s performance today, infact I don''t remember Mr. Earnshaw getting a look in. So my question is do you think Shackell has earned the right for an extended run in the team or does Malky reclaim his place in the next match, I think by reading the first paragraph you know my answer.
  13. I totally agree with you Wurzel infact i''m disgusted with you Wiz for even creating this thread. Of course we''d like a Branson or an Abramovich type figure to come in out of the blue to take control of the club, that''s the most obvious statement i''ve ever heard but the chances of that happening are a million to one, but as Wurzel stated Delia has put a lot of her own money into the club and probably wont get it back. Lets face it she''s not going to put every single penny she''s earned over the years into this club, i mean who would???? I think she''s done a great job since she''s taken over, she''s got us out of the mess Chase left us in, we''ve now got one of the best squads in the league, we''ve got an excellent young manager and we''re second in the league. I just hope you win the lottery tonight Wiz then we''ll all be begging to throw it all into the club, i mean you''d do that wouldn''t you being such a loyal supporter......coz by the sounds of things that''s what you''re asking Delia to do.
  14. A sandwich walks into a bar, the barman says "Sorry we don''t serve food here".
  15. You nutter Higgler, I can''t believe you haven''t had any replies yet, I think people who log onto this site are far too serious. Anyway how about this one: A man with no arms and legs was waiting at a bus stop, just as the bus pulled up one of his mates walked passed and said "alright Jim, how you getting on?".
  16. I remember when Llewellyn first came into the team after an excellent youth career but after watching him progress in the first team through the Rioch/Hamilton era one thing became very apparent.........he was not physically strong enough for that level and to put it politely he was a ''pansy''. To be fair to the lad he was a fairly talented player but I rememeber sitting in the upper Barclay during this period (well before NW took charge) with fans constantly jeering him because of his workrate and constantly bottling out of challenges. How you can then blame NW for his decline is beyond me. I seem to remember Llewellyn getting injured, correct me if i''m wrong, in Worthy''s first home game of his first full season against Man City, being replaced by Mcveigh and never winning his place back, and look at Mcveigh now, Llewellyn isn''t a patch on him, and you must give credit to the manager for that (to be fair you or someone else earlier in this debate did though). I just think Nigel did what Bruce and Bryan should have done in their reign and that was can him because is simply wasn''t good enough. I haven''t got a problem with Llewellyn but I am now starting to get annoyed with these idiotic so called fans calling for the managers head after what he''s done, for Christ sake give the guy a break and get behind him, sorry but seeing an author with the name ''WorthOut'' and listening to some of the gumph 1st Wizard has dribbled on about is starting to P*** me off.
  17. Worthyout, are you actually blaming NW for the player Llewellyn has turned out to be???????????
  18. After spending the last hour reading this debate i''m now gonna have my say. Nigel Worthington - I know everyone is entitled to their opinion on how we should play, who should start, who should be substituted, who should come of the bench to try and change the game etc , to be honest you will find this at every club in the country and let''s face it, if we''re all right and the manager''s wrong why aren''t we all employed as football league managers BUT when it comes to NW you just cannot argue with the man''s record since he took over. Look at where we were then (from the quality within the squad to the league position) to where we are now, there''s no comparison, and it''s all down to the manager. Let''s be realistic, we''re not going to play well every game, there will be games where i''m sure we''ll be extremely poor (Coventry springs to mind) BUT that will happen at every club. I just find it hard to stomach when we''re sitting second in the league (which i don''t believe is a false poistion) and people still slag off the manager, but like I said at the start, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The board - I have absolutely no idea what''s going on behind the scenes and i''m sure no one else does either, what I do know is that they can see the difference the loan players have made, they''re not that stupid (I don''t think) and I, along with most fans, truly, TRULY believe that if the board gamble on Huckerby and Crouch it will pay off. Without them I feel a play off place is the best we can hope for. Come on board, lets gamble..........but it''s easy for me to say sitting here coz i''m not comtemplating gambling on the club''s already slim funds.
  19. Yeah I agree, I get sick to death of hearing the same old songs and chants passed from club to club, it can''t be too difficult make up some new ones. I love the Huckerby/Robin Hood one. I also think we should create a new one for Craig Fleming (who i''ve got to say is one of the most underated and under-appreciated players in the division and our most consisent player for the last 4-5 years) as he very rarley gets a mention except for the odd "There''s only one Craig Flemming". The look of astonishment on his face when that is cheered is a picture.........and he loves it, so I think it''s about time a bit more effort was spent on giving him his own song other than the most unoriginal chant he currently gets. Does Damien Francis have his own song, if not how about re-wording the Chesney Hawkes hit The One and Only to something like "You are the one and only, you are my Damien Francis". What do you think?????
  20. I''ve also heard exactly the same story as Nielson 6 that we''ll be signing Huckerby with Drury going the other way. Not heard the one about Greeno going but there''s bound to be speculation as he''s such an outstanding young keeper. I''ll be sad to see Drury go as he is also an excellent player but we have to ask the questions who will be missed more and who will be more influential in helping us gain promotion. I''m sure most fans would say Huckerby straight away. In my opinion the signing of Huckerby could be the difference in City being what they''ve been for the last two years in play-off hopefulls to becoming genuine automatic promotion contenders.
