  1. Glad you rate Gilmour so highly pal, at least Hourihane has a goal in him.
  2. Right so not too big in a technical sense, but in a practical sense. Seems a bit odd to me, having 10 players out and then leaving several players out of an 11 v 11? That would be 34 players.... I only count 28 on wikipedia and that is including Rowe and the third goalkeeper. Seems to me that with 10 out we'd be drawing on the U23's to manage to put out two x 11's? Should imagine it is just dampening expectations, to not expect half a dozen in because we'd want to be making room in the wage budget to bring people in, that's the real reason..... the wage budget. Hopefully we get a taker for Cantwell which will help us out with that.
  3. How did you work this one out? Players who were U21 in January 2021 don't count in the 25 man squad, so that's Idah, Gilmour, Tsoliz, Mumba, Sargent, Williams, Kabak, and Omobamidele who don't count and that's just off the top of my head, I may have missed some. We have nowhere near the full 25?
  4. Mistake = not holding Webber to account before manager. Nowhere in that thread am I anti-Smith or critical of Smith, perhaps you should have read it. But rumoured targets suggest more manager autonomy.
  5. Right back to replace Max Aarons, the sale of whom is the only way to fund more transfer business, is this not obvious?
  6. OK, well him leaving should make it easy for you to pick your next little Armchair team shouldn't it. I'm a Norwich fan, and I see a player being paid wages by a self-funded club but not having the decency to keep himself fit enough to help out in that clubs relegation battle. What respect is he owed in return?
  7. Feels like a silly question as he's right footed, but he's coming through as an inverted left back, doesn't seem to have really ever played right back. If he can, then no need to bring in another full back in this window if we flog Aarons? Just bring McCallum back as left back cover?
  8. Are you Todd Cantwells dad, brother or agent by any chance? Just that you signed up on 1st November and all you have done is talk about the percieved bullying of Todd Cantwell, whilst then (rather hypocritically) singling out Kieron Dowell for criticism - an odd player for a Norwich fan to single out I feel, is his crime taking some of what you think should be your brothers/mates/clients minutes? With there being so much going on at our club right now it is somewhat odd that you are 95 percent invested in the Todd Cantwell issue with little to say about anything else, somewhat odd considering what has been happening on the pitch with no Cantwell involvement. Being a new account entirely invested in this single player would of course make perfect sense if you were one of Todd Cantwell's Arsenal supporting relatives.
  9. Scored 10 Premier League goals last season! Also, blowing hot and cold is fine, been a few players who haven't even reached like warm this season, Cantwell and Tsoliz for a start.
  10. We won't survive, but we need 2 or 3 in just to give us that first taste of what a Smith squad looks like, get the fans on side.
  11. One of the criticisms of Cantwell in this league last time though was that he didn't create enough chances for Pukki, and when we missed Buendia in the Championship we seriously struggled with Cantwell failing to fill the void. 2 assists to his name in his last Prem season. Did well with his goal tally, but I'm not convinced he is the prolific chance creator that some seem to think he is.... he was never going to be able to fill the Emi void. The problem is, none of our incoming players have filled that void either. For me he's a good Championship playmaker. No shame in that, and exactly what we'll need next season, but Cantwell seems to think he's several rungs above that, and wants paying accordingly.
  12. Nope, I think he'll struggle like Jamal Lewis. Lewis never stepped up to this level for us so I was amazed when Newcastle paid £15m for him, he's a Championship full back.
  13. Into a team with the physicality required to give it a go next time. Already being linked with a 6ft 2" goalscoring right winger, and a 6ft 1 inch Wan-Bissaka type at right back. Cantwell, Aarons, Gilmour, all great little technicians but that's no consolation when the opposition sticks Chris Wood at the back post with Max Aarons or when Jonjo f*cking Shelvey can just breathe over your poundshop Paul Scholes to get him out of the way. Webber will by this point have worked out that he needs to delegate more of the squad shaping to a manager who has extensive experience as as football manager, across the top three tiers of English football, not a head coach who came here with zero knowledge like Farke did. We'll be lining up in August, albiet in the Championship, but already looking like a side better equipped for the top tier. Looking forward to seeing what wheeling and dealing this transfer business can bring. Aarons and Cantwell going are no loss in my opinion, both have physical deficiencies that are far too easy for opposition managers to exploit. I'm sure that Gilmour will have a decent career, but I don't care if he ends up world class like Harry Kane, he's not the man for us.... arise Connor Hourihane, to fill the void of direct free kick threat left by super Mario. Lets ship a few out, bring a few in, see how we start to shape up.
  14. Jacob Murphy has done well, his new 6 year contract at Newcastle, now the richest club in the world, will likely see him play with some top talents at some point whilst he hangs around helping them meet their homegrown player quota. And sorry but he walks into this Norwich side.
  15. Here's one of your completely rational posts about Dowell recently.... Do one you complete oddball. You want to claim that Dowell doesn't care less whilst constantly praising a confirmed tool downer. I suppose if anything would be praising a tool downer it would be a tool. At least relegation and finally flogging the last of our crown jewels means we shake off these global sofa dwelling Johnny come lately's who pick us on FM22 four our good youth rating and get to watch us on the telly for a year. Your ilk are almost as bad as all the Chelsea fans from Western-Super-Mare who want to keep trying to convince us that Billy Gilmour is the new Paul Scholes. I'll back Dowell over Cantwell any day of the week, Farke made it clear that Cantwell was a tool downer, he's blown his chance with Smith, I'll trust them both over your little glance at the wikipedia stats from two years ago and your glittering FM22 CV, thanks.
  16. Oh no, somebody I've never heard of is done with me, how shall I sleep at night. Always a bit difficult to believe the old "long time lurker" line, what's your old login so we can see what you're hiding from? Or do you only support us when we're Premier League? Still, been here long enough to lay into Dowell several times haven't you, double standards? Dowell has shown more than Cantwell this season, and that is really saying something.
  17. He is fully deserving of the criticism for f*cking up his career and bringing absolutely nothing to the table. Farke bombed him out to the U23s squad, Smith isn't interested, why not pick a more apt username if you aren't prepared to use your common sense.
  18. If we subscribe to Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence, whether one has a degree or not is a pretty poor way of determine whether somebody is intelligent or not. Most people have worked in retail, its pretty much a rite of passage. I said that he should work in retail because he wasn't very good at football, not because I think there is a anything wrong with working in retail, just that you don't get paid £10,000 a week or whatever he will be on to work in Next. I just think he massively lacks in self awareness and has obviously allowed people with vested interests to blow smoke up his **** and manipulate him, he's ended up thinking that he belongs in the Champions League and the jury is out on whether he's going to be of any use to anybody in the Premier League again.
  19. El Ghazi apparently on £30k a week, which isn't ridiculous money. El Ghazi was a regular under Dean Smith for his entire tenure at Villa, so I should imagine he'd quite like him here. Surely Cantwell leaving makes the room in the squad for his arrival.
  20. El Ghazi scored 10 Premier League goals last season from the right wing, where we are currently playing Josh Sargent, how could you possibly "not see the point" in him coming in?
  21. Well it was 10 days after the pitch sitting incident that I called out him doing his pre-match warm up like this.... But got heavily criticised on here, because apparently him being local means that he should get a free pass, with a few frequent posters claiming I was "jealous". (Pitch sitting was Brighton at home, 4th July, this really professional warm up was Chelsea away 14th July).
  22. What on earth are you talking about. 7 assists last time in this league. This season our entire team only has 8 goals, and we're halfway through the season.
