Gibbs from Arsenal signed on Loan
Trent Canary replied to rudenotto69's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
because he is good lad and even if we had a good squad he would be a good addition imo, the others seem like desperation stakes, i am here to be proved wrong and hope i am but are they the class we need to progress, time will tell.
Im unsure, but as I said earlier I had never heard of Bertrand or Evans before they came. They came good. Im not expecting every loanee/purchase to be a first choice player, that isnt feasible. It appears we have a good first team right now, given our recent form. We desperately lack cover right now. This is what Glenn appears to be addressing. If he sorts out a new striker or two then that would be very handy as well. Also if some of these loan players come good, it may lead to a future purchase. -
A new direction for our club? Let's debate.

Wiz - If they had played in the premier (Or at least been a success playing in the premier) surely they wouldnt be available to come on loan to a lower division one side? -
stupid transfer policy of our board!!!

What are you on about we have signed so far 4 players today i''m sure loads of fans are NOT laughing at us.
But we haven''t signed them, they''re all loans who won''t be here long!.
Fair enough.. But no one is laughing at us. This isnt "Lets be avin ewe" all over again... -
We need a striker......
Trent Canary replied to Jarroldstander's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
So it looks like we have used up our quota of loans and still no striker and Ched probably heading back in a month. We''ve struggled all season with goals, surely this is a key area we should be looking at....
Considering our defence has been first class the last ten games I would agree. Strikers are surely the priority -
Joe Lewis in the under 21 squad..
Its the first one i know something about so that says he is one to watch does it not, otherwise i would have heard of the others, like you have heard of them all,, i trust Roeder, not the board, their is a diference mr IQ. the others may turn out great but surerly a team full of loanees is like building a house on sand, i would also like to see some older heads as well, am i allowed an opinon if it dont fit in with yours.
Ay?? You said its the first one your happy about. How come you were unhappy with the other loanees? No ones diasgreeing the amount of loanees and lack of signings is worrying.. -

Trent Canary replied to rudenotto69's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
So that''s two wingers today, and with Croft, Hux and Bertrand (and even without Chadwick), we should get good service from the wings. But who will score from their crosses, Dion, so long as he remains fit, and....? We still needed a striker. It looks as if GR was counting on Paterson!
Indeed. One big name striker and I would be very happy from this window... -
Gibbs from Arsenal signed on Loan
Trent Canary replied to rudenotto69's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Primarily a left sided player! Like thats what we need as we have Camara Bertrand Huckerby Chadwick who can all happily play there and are decent players. We now cant play all the loans at once which is insanity and surely not what the managers of their respective sides wanted. Central midfeilders are not exacly an issue now either. Again none of these players will be able to sign perminantely so its back to square one in May. I am angry now
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kieran_Gibbs Seems as though he is left wing or centre-mid. -

Skysports, Keiren Gibbs signed from Arsenal on loan, first loanee i am happy about, very good prospect.
Why, because he''s the first one you''ve heard of.... Roedor knows whats he''s doing so just let him sign em!
True. Some fans (Not just norwich) will instantly write off a player if they have never heard of them. Id never heard of Bertrand or Evans before we got them in but they seem to have done pretty nicely! -
stupid transfer policy of our board!!!
An utter, total farce..................disappointed in Glen to be honest. Is it any wonder that other club fans are laughing at us today.
Funnily enough my two housemates mentioned just now that we have had a good day in the transfer market today. (Ones an arsenal fan who rates Gibbs highly it should be noted) Certainly didnt realize anyone was laughing at us? -

Centre-mid/Left wing apparently. Cover for Fotheringham for the next month. Now for the striker.. :) -
Tough call. Its only right to give him the 100th cap, however it should not be at the expense of someone who has earned the call-up, or a player who we need to give international experience too. Bentley, Lennon, SWP for a start. The whole situation reminds me of Lawrence Dallaglio. Doesnt do much, but when it comes to England squad selection time the PR machine goes into overdrive. Id rather give him 15 minutes at the end of the friendly, let him sail off into the sunset, and get the whole fuss over with. Although I think Capello (Rightly) has dropped him due to a lack of match fitness, and will play him during the MLS season at some stage.

Hold yer horses guys and gals!
Trent Canary replied to Buncey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Depends.. Some would argue wait until the end of the season so we dont get ripped off. Some would say buy now, let the team settle. Then we will be in a great position to attack promotion. Ill put my trust in Glenn. For now im happy, we have a successful first team who are ten unbeaten. We now have good cover apart from striker (Lets hope that attacking player is signed). I think we are in a very good position for the future. -
Loans, Loans and More loans? Any signings?
Trent Canary replied to koimatsuba's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There is the possibility that Glenn is accepting a comfortable mid-table finish. Getting lots of players in on loan to trial ahead of a Summer spending spree (On proven players having proved themselves on their loans) But a bit of money spent in January wouldnt go amiss. -
Aye, suspect a long hard day for you guys today! Most appreciated

what would make you happy by midnight
Trent Canary replied to Gingerpele's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Taylor plus a striker. Or an expensive striker plus Taylor staying at Birmingham for us to sign in the summer. -
Ebbsfleet over Weymouth in the FA Trophy Ebbsfleet - 6 wins in 7 Weymouth - 1 Win in 9 Ebbsfleet won 4-1 at home against them in the league earlier in January

press conference........
Trent Canary replied to Bongo Boy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Is anyone else getting the feeling that we wont see our apparent signings today? Still waiting...
"“I am very confident about being able to announce two on Thursday and I''d like to think there would be at least one more - definitely two, stroke three or four maybe" Glens quote above.. I expect nothing to be announced today.. -
sing your hearts out for the lads
Trent Canary replied to votepedro's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Fair enough, apologies from my end. Saw a similar thread like this the other week from someone on the wind up. Came across as though we were loud, but obviously wasnt there so will trust your judgements. Surprising as our away fans are usually first class. What was the turn out like? -

Funny that, on the radio we appeared to be the only group of fans singing.. Wind-up? (A very poor attempt at one anyway..) -

CORRECTION looks likes it is initially 1 month loan
Cover for Fotheringhams'' injury ?
Wouldn''t have thought he''s cover for Fotheringham, think he''s a central defender.
Oh.. Cover for the non-arrival of Taylor then? Or just general cover for Centre-back, given Dions run as a striker.
-
Cover for someone I assume if only a months loan. Fotheringham? Fine with this. Im not expecting every loan or purchase to significantly improve the squad, we do need cover in certain positions, and if this one adds to the squad then so be it. Although signings like this must be mixed with quality signings, which we must hope are coming.
