  1. Chill Mello. I think you have missed the point. Firstly, I only told you where I live & what I do, as you wrongly accused me of being Mr Blackstock (???!!) Secondly, comparing salaries of workers in Norfolk to London is relative. Bearing in mind house prices, living costs, etc, I don''t think that a local NCFC supporter necesserily has much more personal disposable income. Then there is the cost of travelling back to home games every other week. Then you ask about the majority of fans wanting & only being able to afford pints, pies & chips. Correct me if I am wrong, but are not not bars all over the ground that do just this? Also, there is also riverside, which has bars a plenty. Delia''s restaurant is sold out every matchday and makes profit for the club. How can any activity that makes profit for the club be a bad thing? Speaking of chips, I think I can see something yellow, crispy & made of potato on your shoulder.
  2. Mr Blackstock? Who is he Mello Yello? I gather from following posts that he must be an employee. I can assure you that I am not ''Mr Blackstock'', in fact my name is Joe, grew up in Weston Longville, I live in hertford & work in a radio station in London. It was just an opinion, believe it or not your average punter can come up with one here and there too. I am lucky enough to have taken clients from the media world in london up to Delia''s restuarant every season for the last few years before watching a match & they have been hugely impressed.  I am told, and have first hand experience that delia''s restaurant is better than anything I or my colleagues have experienced at any Premier League grounds - (haven''t tried the emirates yet though). Quite simply, any activity that provides NCFC with profit is worth doing isn''t it?
  3. we shoot burglers, a bit old these days, but lovce it all the same. On the flip side, never quite understood the dross that is "Huckerby..... huckerby". Surely a bouncier, "we do the huck, huck, huck, huckerby" could sound better? I''m quite partial to doing the huck wherever I go.
  4. I second the opinion that the restaurant is fantastic & Delia has done a great job for the club in this respect. our facilities are the envy of many other clubs. So I do take issue with ''restaurant bashers'' too. So long as these keep making profit for the club, no matter how much, then that a positive contribution & should be welcomed. As should any partnerships, be they fuel, travel, bank accounts, etc. But I do agree that, as fans, we have been also been misled with regards to player funds. Every time we sold an earnie, greeno, Dickson, safri, we were told that 100% of they cash was to go into the transfer budget - this did not happen. I would understand if they were just honest about as it is very clear that running a football club is a very difficult achievement if you are trying to make profit, but there have been many times where fans hopes have been raised, then this player budget has dissapeared, presumabley into the running costs of the club. Anyway, in summary, lay off Delia & co for their work in the restaurants. Yep, they made a mistake by leaving worthy for too long & also appointing Grant. But Roeder appears a very good appointment & I hope that he is given decent funds to build his own team. Turners? Still confused as to what their contribution to the club has been????
  5. Map sounds like a good idea to me so long as it doesn''t take ages to do for the web team. I live in Hertford, and am sure there is someone from Cuffley nearby & Winchmore Canary who I must pass every day on the way to London. In terms of Capital canaries, I know I should join. It''s just lazyness which is a crap excuse!
  6. eh??? Wizz is this you??? I love every word you say, although am very suprised after the postings you have given in the past.
  7. yes it stinks. But would you really want to have West ham in this division next year? With all the money & players they currently have? Thats one of the automatic places gone. No thanks
  8. Ok thanks for that. I just can''t remember reading that part of it.   Great Book!
  9. Just got back from holiday where I had the pleasure to eventually read Iwan''s biography All I Want For Christmas. For those of you that haven''t read it, I do recommend it, it is a fascinating read into players lives & what the NCFC staff are really like away from the press. But I have one question about the book.... Why is it called "all i want for Christmas"? I was assuming that there would be a reference to it somewhere in the book, but no. I thought that if asked at Christmas what he wanted he would reply promotion, or champions, or one of his kids would. Either that or all I want for Christmas is two front teeth... Or Huckerby... or long shorts. Any help much appreciated!
  10. Does anyone yet know whether the game will be televised live?
  11. what the hell is the point then. Why can''t you have rooms over looking the pitch... many other clubs do. Just don''t allow the rooms to be used during matches i guess.
  12. I''m playing Sunday league on Sunday morning so will have to Sky+ the game and watch it ''as live'' when I get back at 2pm. It''s gonna be hard, but will have to turn the phone off to not hear the result from mates!!!
  13. Damn my Boss, just when I nip away from my desk for a moment & come back to this. Apologies all, what silly & stupide words have ''seemingly'' come from my mouth. NCFC forever...
  14. I have to be honest - this has been building for some time now....but Ipswich are clearly so much better than us.....my address is xxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxx and no this isn''t someone from where I work hacking into my pinkun account....no it isn''t..............oh no..............honest............
  15. Now he has left, i am more inclined to scratch under the surface of this one. I pay my money every week & feel entitled to a little truth. There is lots of talk about how ''the club looked after him'' in the last year. What exactly did he & the club do??? I gather that he & Francis had a run in & that may be why Francis left, would really love to know more. As much as i respect privacy, when gratitude is thrown back in your face, I feel entitled to ask. Also, what is all this about a phone call to Nigel yesterday, anyone know what was said?
  16. How a bit of positivity? We did not get 18 yr old Cotterill for 2m, Wigan did. Wouldn''t be the first time Wigan got someone & it didn''t really work out - Francis? To get £1m for the not so brilliant Leon in th last yr of the contarct is excellent business. I was dissapointed not to get Eastwood, Kuqi or McLeod, but so be it. They would get injured... maybee. The sale of Greeno & Leon will give us massive movement in the loan market, remember ''the 3'' when we got promoted? It could really be a blessing in disguise. Imagine the pressure if we are doing really well come Xmas & it is time to make them permanent. All eggs in one 18 yr basket? No thanks. Much rather have some serious clout in the loan market & try to achieve our No1 aim - to get promoted. Cheer up, silver linings & all. Joe
  17. Right then, I heard this from a QPR fan before their last game. May be total crap, there may be something in it. Apparently, their chairman wants to go into administation so he can get away without playing the wages of some of his staff, whether players, backroom , etc, etc... He knows that this will incur a 10 point penalty. He will only do this if it is safe & QPR will not get relegated. Please tell me if I am wrong, but before their last couple of games they were on 50 points & if they had won, they would be have got to the 52 points needed to be able to have 10 deducted through going into administration, thus 42 points & avoid relegation. Therefore, the QPR players don''t want to get to the 52 points as they will not get paid if administrations follows. So they don''t want to get any points. Look at the facts: Against Brighton (who are crap)... they lost to a ''perfectly intricated own goal worked from end of the field to another''according to my QPR friend. Not a right result. Then they played us Canaries. 12 mins to go, 2-0 up & they lose 3-2. Mmmm sniff a rat? Next they play Watford at home. They go one up through M Nygaard from the spot. He celebrates & gets a booking. 5 mins later a second bookable offence - he''s off. Watford equalise.. then would you believe it.... an own goal from Santos gifting Watford the 3 points.  Mmmmmm. I would welcome your thoughts....
  18. Give up Wizard, you bore me so much I really can hardly bear to come on this board anymore.
  19. Are we still able to get a loan or two in? With 2 rest of the season loans now on the books, can we get this missing right sided midfielder? By the way, I was impressed with Etuhu against Reading compared to our other players (WLY excepted)
  20. Yep, I am more than happy to give anyone a chance before slating them just cos Worthy has brought them in. It''s very easy to criticise, especially when it may not actually be Worthy''s top choice either - but remember that the player has to wants to come too as well as the selling club happy to accept an offer.
  21. This thread has gone rather quiet since yesterday when it was started... Any news or updates? I for one would be well chuffed if this is all true.
  22. I did think it was only one or 2 long termers. Peter, do you know? (Peter''s on hols - back on Monday - Celia)
  23. I know we go this topic every season about 3 or 4 times, but can someone give me the definitive rules on how many loans we are allowed per year & whether they are season long or 3 monthers. Also, what are the rules regarding calling back a loanee?
