  1. Not blinkered at all, yes at least Ā£1.5 was pulled overnight and more likely to follow, plus more government money will be put in under the conservatives. As for unsourced assertion, what assertion, tell me what it is and I will source it for you. How is more investment ā€œno solutionā€ If anyone is blinkered itā€™s you BF, you seem to prefer throwing insults around to discussing things these days. Answer my final point, why does everyone need free broadband, do you?
  2. https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/amazon-deforestation-fires-brazil-bolsonaro-record-highest-level-inpe-a9208106.html Somebody needs to grab this f.cker by the throat!
  3. I've got faith in Byram and wouldnt have any fears about him turning out if required
  4. Well as we said at the begining, all this is about is whether we get a Conservative overall majority ....Brexit, OR an anti Brexit coalition. Any ideas that Billy et al had that this could be about anything else was always Billy BS
  5. I dont see the same mistakes that May made in 2017 being repeated. The move today steals Steptoe's thunder for tomorrow night. Lets see how they do tomorrow, could be a significant point in the campaign. For my part i would be very happy to see a moderate socialist party up against him being successful, what I could never do is support the shambles that currently have taken over Labour
  6. When is this massive swing to Steptoeā€™s Labour Party, that we have heard so much about, expected to happen. Just want to know so I check my twitter feed. "Boris Johnsonā€™s Conservative party went into the general election campaign with an 11-point lead over Labour, according to the FTā€™s poll of polls. The gap has since widened slightly."
  7. There's a stinky one sits somewhere near me, more down to rich food though I recon.
  8. "This is what I mean by your lack of imagination. This problem has been placed in the too difficult to solve category by the Tories. The breakup of BT has been shelved and they have no idea how to address the problems. In fact they don't have the imagination to even see it as a problem. Labour do, they have put up the costings and time limited it. If there is a criticism it is the question whether fibre is the correct technology rather than wireless not whether the funding is there or whether this addresses the identified problem. In both cases the answer is yes." Are you so naive as to think that a drawn out nationalisation is going to speed things up? We are 10th in the EU connectivity rankings which is nowhere near good enough but in the last 2 years the number of homes with fibre access has doubled. More and more investment is coming into the network, or should I say was, Ā£1.5 billion has already been put on hold since this announcement. I wonder how many of the 800,000 BT shareholders will now be voting Labour? Why are you so convinced that full fibre is necessary with 5G networks coming that can transmit huge amounts of data at high speeds? The whole policy is a poorly thought out nonsense from a practical, financial and crucially for Labour an electoral standpoint.
  9. No thatā€™s wrong as well Daz I think BF was having a senior moment last night, from what I can read Jools didnā€™t say BT had a pension debt or deficit of Ā£62 billion, what he said was a pension liability which in fact is quite correct.
  10. Are you sure about that KG. I had a quick look and from what I saw it was nearer Ā£260 billion at the end of 18/19. UK DB pension deficit increases by Ā£60bn 01/04/19 The UKā€™s defined benefit pension scheme deficit increased by Ā£60bn to Ā£260bn at the end of March, PwCā€™s Skyval Index has revealed. The index, which checks in with the UKā€™s 5,450 DB pension funds found that total assets hit Ā£1.650bn, while the liability target was recorded at Ā£1,910bn..
