Highland Canary 76 Posted June 29, 2014 Agree to a point Morty. But with the parachute payments sharply tapering away, that advantage is significantly greater for teams in their first year of relegation.

Many who come down have been in fairly dire straights for some time and relegation is merely a symptom of that malaise.Far better ours was short and sharp than to have hung on to PL status and saw the debts pile up as we clung on.The club has never been in a better shape finacially, with the means to not only maintain a very strong squad but to add to it as well. There are some very good youngsters coming through - so if we cannot be expecting a very strong challenge this season , when on earth can we ?(personally I would like to win the title then stay in the Championship - it''s much more fun). Yelloow Since 72 54 Posted June 29, 2014 Yes, the PL can be very depressing at times. But then there''s the money...!
