Tetteys Jig 851 Posted August 24, 2013 Clearly it doesn''t work, that''s 2 games where he''s been isolated now. It''s time someone was brought in to play the link up man or we start with Hooper next week. He was isolated in both games and isn''t a Tevez esque runner. He needs quality service and so a bit of invention is much needed.
Syteanric 1 Posted August 24, 2013 one thing i have noticed, and it isn''t due to lack of service, and possibly not even a criticism, but he does seem to be a little bit lazy at times.. the ball is there to be won but he just doesn''t kick on enough... Maybe still bedding in.
Mason 47 1,924 Posted August 24, 2013 I think he''s more of a poacher than we expected. A very good one by reputation, but still a poacher. Over the last few years we''ve been very much used to a forward line that works for the team (Holt, Jackson, Wilbraham, Kamara, even Morison) which really started to work against us last year with a drop in goal output. RvW doesn''t want to play with his back to goal, nor does he really want to be dropping to get the ball. He''s got where he has for his finishing. Let Elmo do the running. JF 694 Posted August 24, 2013 In 2 games the service to him has been so poor. His goal v everton came from a mis hit shot and he got nothing else, today he had 1 cross that he headed superbly but was saved. No striker will score goals without a decent supply of chances. Our style of play will starve him of chances.
