Ryan Taylor to Man City?

Reports in this morning''s Guardian suggest Tranmere right-back Ryan Taylor will join Man City thus possibly releasing our dearly beloved Danny Mills. Now I''m not suggesting we try and entice Mills back as his wages and attitude will be astronomical but as a number of people have touted Taylor as a possible signing what other suggestions do people have for this position assuming Thomas departs?

On a slightly different theme, and as someone who''s a little bit out of touch with City''s reserve and youth sides by virtue of living in Nottingham, what players do we have coming through the ranks who could potentially fill some of the critical positions where we''re likely to be short?

Weve let most of the young players go. Shackell is now a regular first teamer, Lewis is a terrific goalkeeper, Jarvis minor looks a hot prospect.. i also like the look of young Cave-Brown, the right back, likes to get forward and cross from the byline, Fisk, the little midfielder, trouble is the current crop are all too young to play any part next season. The performance of the academy is one area that has to improve if the club is to progress.

Is it the performance of the academy that needs to improve, or the willingness of the manager to play youngsters (preferably in their best position rather than on the right wing!)?

In reply to the original question there is another right back at Man City who might possibly be of interest if Ryan Taylor goes there.

I''m talking about Sun Jihai (who incidentally Bruce Rioch tried to sign for Norwich a number of years ago).

He''s was out with a bad injury for most of last season, but assuming he''s recovered OK from that I think he might be a Worthy type of player. He''s quick, runs and all day and is really tenacious. I can''t remember the exact details, but there was some incident a little while back when he objected to being subbed, even though it turned out he had a broken leg or something at the time.
