Gingerpele 0 Posted January 15, 2013 Yes it does lead to European qualification. But only if the English league is high enough in the fair play table. The leagues are ranked, don''t know how many get a fair play place, but if England doesn''t rank high enough then no one qualifies from our league via fair play. Al 0 Posted January 15, 2013 The table in the opening post isn''t the official premier league fair play table. The offical table takes into account far more than just red & yellow cards. Here is a link to it. Official Fair Play Table. Norwich are 8th
shefcanary 2,956 Posted January 15, 2013 How are Arsenal at the top with whinging Wenger in charge? I see we''ve been marked down for positive play by Hughton''s cautious use of one up front, but plenty of others use it nowadays. Interesting that Aston Villa are lower than in in positive play points and Sunderland are lowest? The master and student of attacking positive play being marked down - very interesting. ZLF 335 Posted January 15, 2013 Seeing how the fair play is calculated was new for me, not just cards but far more abour respect, from the players to each other and the refs, and the behaviour of the management team and the fans. But it also reflects how the game is played, positive play Our league position for each elements is R/Y cards 1stPositive play 15th (liverpool top, sunderland bottom)Respect to opponents 6th (Spurs top, West Ham and Newcastle bottom)Respect to ref 10th (Spurs top, West Ham bottom) Behaviour of management team 7th (spurs top, Stoke bottom) Behaviour of fans 5th (Fulham top, West Ham bottom) Positive play is scored through POSITIVE- Using attacking tactics, not defensive- Speeding up the game- Efforts to gain time (e.g. bringing the ball back into play quickly even if the team is in a winning position)- Continuing to push for goals when in a winning position NEGATIVE - Slowing down the game- Time wasting- Tactics based on foul play- Play-acting (simulation) Being 15th suggests we simply are not entertaining enough in the assessors eyes as I dont think the negatives apply to us
Calle 20 Posted January 17, 2013 Read an article about the fairplay standings in Europe, and its norway, Sweden and Finland that sits in the three qualificationspots, and that was not likely to change because there aren''t enough games left to make a difference.
