Robbo007 0 Posted February 27, 2005 Having read the debate on Arsenal fielding a complete foreign squad, it has been publised in the media that Norwich are the club with the least foreigners in their squad, 4.Surely the obvious ones are; Helveg, Jonson, Svennsson. Then there is Brennan, which makes 4, but hasn''t Francis pledged his alliances to Jamaica? Are the media wrong, or does the Francis situation make him a Brit, playing for Jamaica??One other point, does anyone else know if the work permit rule / non-eu players applies to Brennan? Surely he hasn''t played the required 70% of games, but is he still classed as a non eu player having been in the country for a while??

Cantley 0 Posted February 27, 2005 I think we need to get our terms straight here, by applying the World Cup test ... Would the player love to beat England in a World Cup Final? Then he''s foreign.I admit that this means at many clubs it becomes a case of ''spot the Englishman'', but it''s the only definition of foreign-ness which makes any sense. This is England. This is the English league. If your allegiance lies elsewhere, you''re foreign.
