Banana, look a bit further down the page, and you''ll see it says his contract runs out next year.

Thats just a quick summery your reading, not every piece of information about him. How I read that (after seeing contract runs out in 2013) is just a milestone in his career here. Being awarded a 3 year contract was probably pretty big for him.
