Redders Right Foot 22 Posted May 23, 2012 "he [Lambert] has decided on the futures of the remaining players out-of-contract – among them testimonial man Drury."I have had a chat with him. He knows what is going on and he is thinking about a few things. I’ll see what he thinks in the next few days. Everybody knows what is happening,”"Just pure speculation here, but sort of sounds like Lambert and Drury have decided he will not be playing another season, but maybe he might be brought on to couch or something along those lines. Thoughts?Again, pure speculation, no BW BS here.
flecky76 0 Posted May 23, 2012 He''s still got enough about him to play somewhere for a couple of years at least yet. 33 is not retirement age just yet, if he is still fit. Would imagine the question is around length of contract.
priceyrice 133 Posted May 23, 2012 I expect he''s been offered a 1 year deal, perhaps even on a lower wage, he must be one of the top earners just through period of time at the club. Question is, it could be better for him over a few years to sign a longer contract at another club now
AJ 1,359 Posted May 23, 2012 Easily worth another year. He''s probably a massive figure in the dressing room.I do think he will probably stay on as some kind of coach or something though. He''s gained a lot of experience through the game, so may as well give something back!
William Darby 0 Posted May 23, 2012 34 come the start of the season. And he''s got a couple of very young kiddies. So maybe rather than uproot them for a year or two to go somewhere else. He have been offered some kind of coaching role on less money (guessing).
Old Shuck 291 Posted May 23, 2012 Does anyone know if he has taken any of his coaching badges? Maybe a role with the expanded Academy (has been talk about Mark Robins being involved) along with a reduced playing one? We can''t shove all the characters out of the door-Wilbers has gone (and looked emotional when he came off last night, just as the Admiral et al looked delighted to be back!), Adam''s future uncertain-and what of Lapps? All well and good talking up who might come in but important to think about who to keep as well, even if it isn''t solely for their presence on the field. Harry 0 Posted May 23, 2012 Adam Drury has got a mimimum of one more season in him, he might not be the quickest of players but his footballing brain more than makes up for that, he has filled in well this season and hasn''t been run ragged by anyone. Google Bot 3,934 Posted May 23, 2012 Agree on the one year lower wage offer, club have him by the balls really - he''s so settled. Also, I don''t know if real football contracts are like the ones on footy manager? Where in the contract your role is defined (i.e. squad/reserve/first team).I imagine it is, as it''s no different than any works contract really. If so, i imagine those terms will probably indicate that the there is no guarantee of a starting place.
