Herman 11,136 Posted December 27, 2011 Does anybody sit here regularly and if so what''s it like.View, atmosphere etc.etc.
Bryangunnshairline 0 Posted December 27, 2011 I''m normally in the barclay but I''ve started taking my son to games , when I do we SIT! In the community stand. The view is not that bad for a corner although depending on where you sit you will have restricted viewing due to the big post in the way that holds the riverend roof up I think. Atmosphere is obviously nowhere near as good as the barclay. Is more for your reserved type of person that likes a cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich for a half time treat. But although for me its not great its an ideal stand to start your kids love affair with the mighty city.
Herman 11,136 Posted December 27, 2011 Cheers mate.Normally in the Barclay as well but ''beggars can''t be choosers'' sometimes. Will bring my blanket and keep my swearing to a minimum[;)]

If you swear once, its a warning. Again, they claim they''ll kick you out. I sat there for a game against Leeds i think. I swore at a ref decision, steward quoted me the above! Herman 11,136 Posted December 27, 2011 Is that for real Hogesar? There better be no defending ''mishaps'' if that''s the case!!
MC Fearfull 0 Posted December 27, 2011 It was alright, a good view from where I sat but it was very tight.
hogesar 10,767 Posted December 27, 2011 unfortunately yes Herman, I do understand the reasoning because it is a ''community'' stand afterall. It is a little over zealous, but of course there are probably different stewards now and I was probably just unlucky!
Boyo 0 Posted December 27, 2011 My season ticket is in that stand and it is a very good view, just make sure you don''t buy a ticket with a restriction view, although I think most of the seats without a restriction view are taken up by season ticket holders. And the atmosphere is obviously nothing like the Barclay but no different to anywhere else in the ground.
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted December 27, 2011 Good views apart from the seats that have parts of the pitch blocked by the River End roof and floodlight supports although I suspect one day this problem maybe eradicated by a stand with a cantilever roof! Herman 11,136 Posted January 22, 2012 Sat here yesterday and enjoyed it.The view was good and the people around were sound.Good humoured and found myself laughing a lot at their witicisms (although a bit too much Morison bashing going on[;)]).All in all not a bad place to sit,not as noisy as the Barclay but not a morgue either.
