Is Surman the new Jason Jarrett?

Correct. It is clearly his task to mark every opposition player at corners.
To put things into context, I''ve never rated Surman. Too much of a fake-tanned, hair product drenched, damp eyed nancy boy for my liking. Hopefully we''ll get shot of him in January, god knows who to though and certainly at a eye-watering loss. I''m trying to remember a less effective, more lightweight player since the great JJ and failing hopeelessly. He shares Jase''s ability to be wherever the ball isn''t.

Spot on?

No just one but which one?  Correct me if I''m wrong but he looked as if he was just standing watching the action happen in the penalty area. People go on about our poor defence this season but it doesnt help when the opposition right back is allowed a free run into our penalty area.

I do feel sorry for Surman, he''s the latest city player getting bucket loads of undeserved stick from some of our moron fans. Always need someone to attack don''t they? R.Martin, C.Martin, Wilbraham, Ruddy now Surman.

Who next then? Holty? Why not Lambert?

C on the T. A little bit of information for you. Every team has detailed plans on how to deal with opposition corner kicks. Most players are given an opponent to mark whilst others are detailed to patrol certain areas, e.g. near post, far post, area in the six yard box in front of the near post to prevent flick-ons and the edge of the penalty area for any partial clearances. Just for a bit of fun, watch the corner kick and goal again. Try to work out what Andrew Surman''s role was and who had been given the task of taking care of the goalscorer. If you try really hard, I am sure you can get it.
Important goals scored. Decisive passes. Good link up play. Never stops running. Regular in the championship promoted team. What more does Mungo want? Maybe you don''t think he''s up to the premiership? Well maybe he''ll prove you wrong - I hope so. If he gets a chance or a run in the team - no doubt PL will get the best from him. Some people are too quick to write off players who have given the club good service. Who would you be satified with? Messi? Ronaldo?
.......what does Mungo want? attention it seems. or a new club to support, please, we don''t need him.

Are you for real or on a wind up? Speak the truth? If he''s speaking out of his mouth, I would really hate to see where it''s situated. A quick visit to the Andrew Surman/Jason Jarrett thread will reveal the "truth" about this individual.

Just seen the goal a couple of times and clearly Surman''s task was the zone on the edge of the area to pick up any second ball. Martin was picking up Zubar and was caught on his heels whilst Zubar attacked.

Martin was the player who Zubar ended up next to. Who didn''t track Zubars run?

There is no way that Surman would have been responsible for marking a 6ft plus defender at a corner. I''m pretty sure (although it is difficult to tell when watching on a laptop) that we were marking zonally from corners on Tuesday night anyway. So Surman would not have been expected to track any run.

Strangely, this message board board came over all "North Korean" yesterday. Anyhooo, now I can update my thoughts. I went to Molineux on Tuesday and, from the stands, formed an opinion which is perhaps a little more objective than those whose experience of the game was limited to squinting at Estinian porn channel streams. Pansy Surman played much better than normal (which is obviously damned praise). For twenty minutes. Then he reverted to type, went missing and City were were back to effectively playing with ten men for the lions share of the match. NOTE. the period in which we were dominant neatly coincides to the period in which there were eleven City players actually trying.

Yes he scored a goal and even put in a half hearted tackle or two. Big deal, he''s paid an eye-watering amount of our hard-earned to do that and should be doing much more of it much more often. Those of you who see this game as a sea change for Pansy, the line in the sand, are deluding yourselves. You want to believe he''s good, that PL didn''t make a rare mistake. The evidence to the contrary is staring you in the face. Surman is slow, weak and ineffective. Gouing up a gear for quarter of an hour every four of five matches doesn''t cut it. The kindest thing would be to quietly offload in January.

Pilks, a far far better player, must be pulling his hair out. All I can suggest is, given Surman''s Club Book model charms have obviously worked their magic, to start hanging round the Colney changing rooms in a string vest tucked in to matching Y-fronts, looking wistfull while pointing into the middle distance with a pipe.

The sad truth is that Lambert''s Pet''s goal will probably guarantee him an undeserved start for the next few games at least.

Mungo

Admit it Mungoloid, you''ve been proved wrong and now you look to be wishing that he doesn''t continue his run of form, which for fellow NCFC fan is very wrong.

Build a bridge, and get over it you child!

Well done on making the journey to the Black Country but I''m sorry Mungo, not sure how you can claim to have a better view of his performance watching from a low level, in a stand a considerable way back from the pitch.

You''re on a wind up, just give it up.

"How was your view of the game LDC? Skiddaw didn''t get in the way?"

Well now Mungo, I don''t know how many games you go to each season, but I wager that the matches I go to this season take me alot more time and effort in travel  - 600 mile round trip to see home games - and money if it comes to that,  than it does you over the course of a season.  So I don''t take kindly to the likes of you having a pop at a fellow supporter - and there are lots like me who live round the country - just because you still live in Norfolk.

Why don''t you go down the road and support the binners - you slag off our team off like they do - I should think you would fit in quite well.

Merry Christmas.

Always when I come on this messageboard I find that one player or another is being slagged off by one person in particular and this always appears to be mungo! Thing is Paul Lambert is the boss and im sure he has a much better understanding of players performances than yourself, surman is a decent player who has had a run in the first team recently keeping out players like Bennett and Pilkington, he was easily one of the best players out there on Tuesday night!

He was only "one of the best players" for about 20mins and then went back to his old, pansy self.

Also, just because Lambert is the manager, it doesn''t mean he is a God and gets everything write.

He has a better understanding than someone sat in the stands and im pretty sure 99% of Norwich supporters would stand by his decisions. In my opinion Surman will still be in and around the first team like he has been at the end of the season and into the next.

For your information, binner, I have been to Wigan, Stoke, MKdons, West Brom, Bolton, Man Utd, Swansea, Blackburn, Man City.

Either couldn''t get a ticket or work family/comittments for the rest.  All matches couldn''t attend watched live online.

600 mile round trip for home games, total miles including away games 3200. Fuel c £650, tickets c.£350.   £1000 spent so far this season.

So don''t you dare have a go at people like me (there are lots of us) who are ex-pats who love our club and put at least as much time and effort supporting their club than you seem to do when you slag off our players for no good reason other than your inflated sense of self importance.
