Brighton Yellow 0 Posted September 4, 2011 He certainly tore it up tonight! Shame the rest of his team were not quite up to speed...
Yellow Shirt 17 Posted September 5, 2011 In all honesty I do still think he''d be worth having on the bench for the last 15 minutes of a game! Can you imagine him running on to Holts hold up play?
Mungo Bumpkin 0 Posted September 5, 2011 Good call! Use up one of the 25 squad berths on Hucks. Perhaps we could also sign up Iwan to come on if we get a corner in the last ten seconds.

Mungo Bumpkin 0 Posted September 5, 2011 Sort of missing the point, Yellow. Rather than specify Iwan, try [insert name of any ageing washed-up former crowd favourite]. Perhaps we could give Duncan Forbes a run out or Ken Foggo?

I did not expect to see the passion, pace and finishing still on display but it was. Absolutely nothing to do with him being a fans fave- if that had have been any ex-canary I''d have felt the same, he actually did look like he could do a job off the bench. To further the stupidity of your post- if people were 100% serious about pulling someone out of retirement it would hardly be wasting a place in the 25 seeing as we only named 23. Yellow Shirt 17 Posted September 5, 2011 Sorry- the wording of that was a bit harsh, having a shoddy day! Still, the sentiment is the same... just put nicer!
LeJuge 0 Posted September 5, 2011 I think the idea of Huckerby turning out for us in this league is pretty ludicrious. I did watch the Masters, he was probably the best attacking player in the whole thing, but that probably says more about the fitness and motivation of the other players in the tournament..... many of whom are in their early 40''s and haven''t kicked a ball for years! He''s got a dodgy hip remember? That''s why he retired. If you had said maybe he could do a job for a League Two team, by training twice per week like Dublin did for us, and playing every other game or being limited to coming off the bench..... then you might get some support. But the Premier League is the best league in the world, you can''t seriously be suggesting that a couple of hat tricks against teams full of long retired players is enough to suggest that he could play a role for us now? We also have to wonder whether he took an insurance payout for his injury, because if he did, it means no more professional football. It would be great to see him turn out for Lowestoft though. Jonzey 0 Posted September 5, 2011 I always thought Huckerby would be great in one of these masters tournaments. Good to hear he''s done well.
priceyrice 133 Posted September 5, 2011 I watched the replay last night just because i saw Leeds were in it and i was curious to see Hucks play, to me he looked like he had lost a lot of pace, although he was far quicker and fitter than his opposition, but let us remember these are old men he is playing against. The one thing i will say is, he looked far superior than the scumbag Keane.I can''t honestly believe your suggestion of him playing competitive football premier league football is real, but it would be good to see him turn out for one of the local teams, sure it would increase their fan base dramatically too, i just don''t think he has the time or the desire for that with all his injury problems he still has
