NORWICH should build a statue of Delia Smith at Carrow Road after promotion to the Premier League

NORWICH should build a statue of Delia Smith at Carrow Road after promotion to the Premier League.

Delia and her husband Michael Wynn-Jones have ploughed £12million of their own fortune into the club as majority shareholders and twice saved Canaries from administration.

Now Norwich are sure to get £88m over the next five years - even if they go down next season.

Chief executive David McNally said: "There should be statues of Delia and Michael at Carrow Road for their commitment.

"We''ve never had any money and we won''t know what to do with it. But it''s a great problem to have.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world and Norwich supporters deserve to be there."

"The best league in the world and Norwich supporters deserve to be there"

Never a truer word spoken Mr McNally[Y]

I think it would only be right if a fans group unveiled this statue.....

Someone like the Chairman of NCISA....

OK....... And what role did you have in mind for the immediate ex-chairman of your nCIsA?

On a more serious note, however, I''m not sure I agree with McNally and The Sun writer on this. One suspects that time will lend some perspective.

I''d far prefer a statue to the player who throughout our history has done the most to advance our cause on the field. I reckon a statue of Kevin Keelan in a characteristic flying save stretched across the outside of the Barclay stand would do that job - don''t you?

But still. One love.

If this happens I would be horrified.

I fully acknowledge the financial input she has made and without that we would not just have been promoted - FACT! However, statues and the like should be reserved for great players or managers of the past. Delia Smith (as she herself has said) is .....''acting as a trustee on behalf of the fans who are the true owners of the club''

We have now been told publicly (for the first time) by the club that in September / October 2009 we were on the brink of administration. Who was majority shareholder in those years when the debt spiralled and should have taken action to prevent that taking place? And you want a statue in honour of that person???

In the early summer of 2009 The Cook and her husband knew the game was up and had to effectively relinquish day to day control to McNally. The rest is history.

I thoroughly endorse this apart from the last bit. I would propose 1st Wiz for the unveiling not some self-promoting, self-inflated, pompous member of the cosy little inner circle. ... oops.

Maybe Butler you could enlighten me as to what was not truly democratic before you took over as Chairman? I was delighted that our President Roy Blower attended Committee meetings as a non voting attendee in my day to lend his considerable expertise but YOU put a stop to that. Was that a Committee decision or yours?

Who promised that Myself and Roy would receive copies of all minutes and e-mails concerning NCISA? All i can say is that they must be lost in cyberspace as we have received zilch.Yes it was you Chris.

The membership deserve to know why those shares have not been purchased so why not tell them?

Membership numbers are nowhere near the target you set of 1,000 by this month. You have had 8 months to alter the direction of NCISA which you lauded in the press and it just has not happened but please do not have the nerve to make me your scapegoat.

Yes i will ask questions on Friday so thanks for the invite.
