Pink Un Text Commentary

Anyone else compeltely underwhelmed with the The Pink Un text commentary lately?  It completely lacks any pace, excitement or emotion, with big gaps between updates and way too much banter from us fans.  It leaves me completely cold and find myself reverting the Beeb.

Anyone know the name of that guy who does the commentary very occasionally (Paddy something possibly?) who gives constant updates every few seconds abouts who''s just kicked, headed, touched the ball.... It''s so much more insightful when he does the commentary and creates a real sense of excitement. 

God knows why he''s not doing it every week.  It''s a different class when he does it.

Agreed, im abroad so using the pinkun commentary for the first time. Have no real idea of whats happening, just lots of pointless comments from fans (Which is ok as long as its mixed with a description of whats actually happening at the game)As you suggest the BBC live text appears to be a better option, and I find that useless in terms of insight.

It just seems as though he is far more concerned with going through the fan comments, and less concerned with providing insightful analysis of the game. But hopefully im not being too harsh.

Would you say there is more/less fan text today? It just seems as though he is far more concerned with going through the fan comments, and less concerned with providing insightful analysis of the game. But hopefully im not being too harsh.

[/quote]i would say about the same fans txt.[/quote]i cannot get radio Norfolk, and refuse to pay for it...so the live txt is all i have...at least the txt on goals are instant...thats good enough for me[:D]

Ok, surely fan reaction is the whole point of the forum? I can understand having it all in one place, but its still irritating. Would be better if you could turn off the fan comments, or just scrap them altogether so Michael et al can concentrate on the game, must be pretty tough to juggle both sides. Maybe have a link on the live text to an ''Official'' match thread for the fans to react.

Just sent a comment to Michael to that effect.  Maybe it''s my imagination, but there seems to be a little more commentary in the 2nd half, albeit the volume of fans comments continue unabaited.

Unfortunaetly I cant get soccer saturday online today.Ill admit some of the fan comments that MB reacts to can be useful. Someone just asked if we are better in the second half, someone earlier asked about the atmosphere to which MB replied. Also people occasionally ask about individual players to which MB will discuss. However then we get comments like ''OLI OLI OLI'' and C''mon city lets get a third'' which add nothing

Yeah,spot on Trent.If it was kept to proper questions it would be even better than it already is!

I''m glad it isn''t just me who thinks the same thing. I sent MB a few texts during the game complaining about the overwhelming number of fan texts that were just plain stupid or childish. No substitute for a real commentary imo.
