silver fox 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Having read Matt Svensson''s comments about Worthy not needing another striker I wonder whether he feels vulnerable as we approach the New Year. Huckerby is at least scoring goals, McKenzie is causing problems for opposition defences when he is selected, but as a so called centre forward, Svensson is not really producing the goods. It is good news for Svensson that in Worthy we have a manager who is reluctant to even give our three promising youngsters Henderson, Jarvis, and Crow a chance, let alone try Jonson in the centre forward role. However, should we buy a proven goalscorer in the January sales, there is always a possibility that Svensson may find himself dropping a division like he did last year. Hopefully he will have a cracking game and score against Fulham, and prove to the manager that he can do it at this level.
BedsCanary 0 Posted December 3, 2004 Sven''s been doing alright. He''s more likely to keep his place in the team when/if the new striker comes along than McKenzie
0ridgemanddMMyyyy0Falseen-USTrue 0 Posted December 3, 2004 I was interested to read Svensson''s comments in the evening paper and was wondering whether it is the same player that we see on a Saturday afternoon. Would this be the Svensson that wins very few balls in the air, the same player that does more pushing than anyone else. My comment would simply be PROVE YOURSELF ON THE PICH NOT the sports page. Kent Canary 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Why shouldnt he positive about the squad he''s in and about his own performance? Good for you Svensson!
aubrey rooney 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Dead right Ridgeman, 1, that''s one goal in thirteen games this season isn''t exactly a stunning return and, to then ''put your hand up'' to the Boss is just attracting attention to his lack of goals. If you want to keep your place......do your job!!!
king of latvia 0 Posted December 4, 2004 well its good to hear that one of our players is trying to be positive more than i can say for some of our members on hear , and yes i think he has played well the work rate that he puts in is 100% just like all the other players . lets get behind the team and come on city
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Svensson isn''t doing a bad job. He''s putting himself about and winning the ball which is what he''s up front for. However, his main and primary job is to score goals and he isn''t doing enough of this. I''m sure Sven would be a good partner for a prolifc striker. Whether thats Leon or not I don''t know. If we want a striker in January though we''ll have to look to the loan market. £1.2M doesn''t get you much
Hcuk 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Quote from the BBC gossip page:Southampton striker Peter Crouch is top of Norwich boss Nigel Worthington''s shopping list after he was given a £1.2m transfer boost. (Daily Mirror)
