Ayrton Twigge 0 Posted September 3, 2004 Now we have the Doc, how are we going to sort out our defence because Charlton and Fleming have played exceedingly well, although I''m still concerned about their lack of height.Having mulled it over I wonder if the following re-jig is viable.Flem - Doc - Charlton at the backEddie/Helvig - Francis - Safri/Holt - Mullers/Bentley - Drury/Brennan Two forwards of your choice.Looks strong to me - but what do I know. AJ 1,235 Posted September 3, 2004 i still prefer: ---------Â Â Â green Edworthy-Flem-Charlton-Drury-----------Safri-------------------Francis-------Bently---Â ---------- Huckerby---------------Doc--------Mckenzie--- but:------------------- Green------------------------------Fleming---Doc-----Charlton--------------------Francis------SAfri------------Jonson/mcveigh--------------------Bently-------------------huckerby-----------------------Doc--------------------Mckenzie--- looks good iswell
Robbo007 0 Posted September 3, 2004 I think alot of people feel the same as you Aryton (inc myself). A simple way to include an extra defender is to play 3-5-2, this would give lesser defensive responsibity for Drury and perhaps Helveg would get improved confidence knowing that there would be less chance of mistakes being punished. At last? 0 Posted September 4, 2004 Wasn''t there a guy who played for us once may still be on the books used to play for Celtic seems to have been erased from all memories?Shame on you all writing off the Malkay. He will be priceless for us this season when we get injuries and suspensions. I have no doubt he can do a job for us and to write him off before he kicks a ball is well out of order. From tonights BBC report " Malky Mackay was outstanding at the heart of the Scottish defence, while Gary Caldwell and Jackie McNamara also caught the eye. Pyro Pete 1,938 Posted September 4, 2004 I don''t think big Malky should be ruled out just yet though. I''ve just been watching him play for Scotland against Spain and he''s having a very solid game at the back. It''s currently 1-0 to Scotland!
yellow 63 23 Posted September 4, 2004 good game to try 3-5-2 would be the bristol rovers cup game

Pete Raven 276 Posted September 4, 2004 The formation against Bristol Rovers (my second team) should be:GallacherEdworthy, Mackay, Doherty, ShackellHenderson, Mulryne, Holt, Brennan Jarvis, SvenssonThe sooner we exit this tin-pot competition the better. We have bigger fish to fry.
