yellowdamien 0 Posted August 17, 2009 I''ve just been looking through some of the stories about possible new managers and something in an article about Hasselbaink caught my eye. It said that there was a possibility of him coming, with Poyet as his assistant. Maybe its just me, but I wouldn''t mind Poyet himself being given the job. He did a very good job at Tottenham as assistant, is likeable, has experienced football at all levels. Am I alone in thinking he would be good for this club? West Ham Canary 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Maybe if it was the other way round, Poyet as manager and Hasselbaink as an assistant/coach, people would have been more accepting of the rumour. Poyet definitely has a good looking CV, but not at management itself
yellowdamien 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Maybe his CV is lacking at management level, but then to start at a lower league club and move up is the traditional route and lets not forget that we''re in the third tier. I think he could do a very good job.
West Ham Canary 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Dennis Wise and Poyet I would say YesPoyet and Hasselbaink - big no no
yellowdamien 0 Posted August 17, 2009 I wouldn''t want Denis Wise in any capacity. Poyet on his own, with whoever he decides to bring would be fine with me.

Your description could be applied to him before he joined (apart from the third tier, obviously). I think the least we should expect is a manager with experience, preferably at League One level. The more I think about it the more Nigel Adkins seems the outstanding candidate for the job.
Brendo 0 Posted August 17, 2009 I really dont like Mr Wise, wouldnt like it if he came!
yellowdamien 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Adkins or Coppell would both be excellent choices. I''m just dubious as to whether they would want to come. All I''m suggesting is that Poyet would be an interesting alternative. Everywhere he''s gone the fans have loved him and the club''s he''s coached have been successful. Brendo 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Adkins would be good. But do you really think he would leave the team who he brought up to the championship for us. Similar story with Tilson and Lambert, dont see them leaving their clubs for us sadly.
