Canary_on_the Trent 0 Posted July 22, 2009 Sorry if this has already been mentioned and discussed but Robert Eagle has earnt a deal up in the highlands at Inverness.Caley Thistle are on the verge of completing a deal for former Norwich City midfielder Robert Eagle as three more trialists arrived at Caledonian Stadium this week.Manager Terry Butcher looks likely to seal his second transfer of the summer by capturing Eagle, 22.Eagle will play in tonight’s friendly at Forres Mechanics, kick-off 7.45pm, alongside former Leicester City midfielder Johnny Hayes, and two Slovakian forwards.Butcher said: “Robert has come back and will feature against Forres.“We are very close to signing him, it is just a case of agreeing personal terms.“He can play on the left or the right, he is versatile, a hard worker and has a good bit of skill as well.It was fairly clear he wasn''t going to make it with us due to his lack of physique but he always worked hard and looked a tidy player, good luck to him up there, has had 2 years of his career wasted here whilst he could have been playing elsewhere
TheCardinal 0 Posted July 22, 2009 Yep, good luck to the lad. Always knuckled down and worked his socks off as I understood it.

Old Shuck 291 Posted July 22, 2009 If he does well and has a good career, we''ll all be on here, castigating the club for letting him go and conveniently forgetting all the times he was written off by so many!

Not good enough, simple as that. Decent left foot but no pace and frankly looked out of his depth against Dereham last summer. Good luck to him - maybe he will be more suited to Scottish football! chicken 0 Posted July 22, 2009 I will say this - not because I believe it but because I want to know what it feels like and to get there before someone else!WHERE IS THE AMBITION - he is Narrrrwich thruuu and thruuu, he might be little but he nos is stuff! He will be the next Lewis, Crowe, Henderson, Hayes, Jarvis, Jarvis etc etc. We should not have let him go - we''re well and truly up a creek without a paddle now!Right now that is out of the way - I hope the lad does well. Unfortunately he has signed for a manager who has been in the game a while but still not proven himself to be any good.
