Devils Advocate. 0 Posted May 22, 2009 When you consider the list of players we have sold over the years, is it strange how many of them have suffered injury blighted careers since leaving us. The likes of Bellamy,Eadie, O''Neill , Gordon, Ashton, Francis, Emblen and Fashanu (there may be others) spring to mind. Is it that we the fans curse them when they leave, or do we specialise in dodgy players with iffy medical reports ?. Is the club footballs answer to Arthur Daley ? Look out Marshall and Croft, you could be next!.
Paul Spector 0 Posted May 22, 2009 You sound like Wiz with all this talk of curses!Personally I think there is nothing in it.
Devils Advocate. 0 Posted May 22, 2009 If you have seen the film "The Medusa Touch", with Richard Burton, you would know who John Morlar was..........
Herman 11,136 Posted May 22, 2009 I was thinking along similar lines today John! What players have left us and had long and really good careers.I could only think of Bruce and Woods (sort of).All the others,as you say,get constantly injured, never settle or just disappear.Any other exceptions? Devils Advocate. 0 Posted May 23, 2009 I forgot to add Leon Mackenzie and David Bell, they have had good value for their BUPA membership.

Devils Advocate. 0 Posted May 23, 2009 Keith O''Neill last played league football for Coventry and retired at 27. Flown from the nest had him down as playing for Newquay but that was a while back. Wikipedia mentions that he suffered from Spondilitis as a child, so maybe our medical requirements are more "flexible" than you might expect. Given that many of the players in my list have ended up at Coventry, do you think that they might have learned by now? . Incidently, Jon Newsome only played about 70 games after we had to sell him, he retired at 30 which is premature in anyones book.
