lucky green trainers 0 Posted March 10, 2009 i posted this yesterday - copied from blackpools footy site..."A man of the match performance from Alan Gow inspired the Seasidersto a thrilling 3-2 victory over Derby County at Bloomfield Road. The man of the moment, fresh from his injury time equaliser againstCardiff City in the last home game, was rewarded with his first startfor the club following the loss of Steve Kabba with an ankle injury -and he didn''t let the manager down. An opening goal, an assist and a hand in the third goal capped off amagnificent night for the on-loan Rangers man in an entertaining gameat Bloomers. Other goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Ben Burgessensured Pool picked up their first Tuesday night three points in theChampionship." and this from tonights pinkun..."Alan Gow proved that fresh faces may just be what Norwich City need as he inspired a vital Carrow Road victory for the Canaries.TheScot was a breath of fresh air in a season in which so much has beenstale, adding a touch of guile, a hint of something different that hasbeen so sadly lacking. It was he who, in partnership with DavidMooney, lit the blue touch paper on a performance which could well turnthe survival tide in Norwich''s favour, as long as they don''t go and dowhat they did at the weekend and follow a good performance with a badone.Victory over Cardiff has to be followed by one overPlymouth on Saturday - and if Gow - on loan from Rangers - is involved, then there''s a damned good chance it will happen. It wasn''t justGow''s own performance, it was way he teamed up with Mooney and the waythat their enthusiasm and skills brushed off on the likes of WesHoolahan and Ryan Bertrand.Gow set up the opener for Mooney on49 minutes and another exquisite touch gave Cody McDonald a debut goal,in time added on - three names that two months ago meant little to Cityfans, but who now could have played a massive part in the club''s future.Gunnput Gow and Mooney up front in place of Carl Cort and Hoolahan, who wasswitched to the left flank as Ryan Betrand dropped into the left backslot vacated by Jonathan Grounds."i suggested right wing in place of croft - but fair play to gunny - it looks like gow and mooney could have ''clicked'' from the word go in training - and if so - this kind of understanding is worth its weight in gold and maybe, just maybe - if this two can score/create 10 goals between now and seasons end - we could have just found a get out of jail free card!!!but plymouth first...[:D]
Mister Chops 7 Posted March 10, 2009 Gow was fantastic, he had a bit of everything - strength, speed, trickery and commitment. Really encouraging performance, as with Mooney too.

DDD In The Fine City 1 Posted March 10, 2009 And to think we could have bought him for 200k at the start of the season, well done Ratface
astrodyne 0 Posted March 10, 2009 His flicks and presence worried them all night imo.
gazzathegreat 0 Posted March 10, 2009 Thought both of them brought something we haven''t seen yet this season upfront, pace. Pace and movement off the ball. It seemed to spark the whole team into playing and moving off the ball. There were still some sticky moments, but at least we saw some desire, all eleven of them (plus subs). Particular mention to the defence who looked comfortable for the most part and Plastic who dug us out of several holes in the second half. Russell looked much better in midfield and Wes again was creative and did his bit defending. Was impressed by Mooney most of all tonight to be honest, though he looked excellent, and young Cody who took his goal very well. Something to build on at last, we can only hope they start Saturday as they left off.
astrodyne 0 Posted March 10, 2009 I thought we lost a bit of shape after Mooney went off tbh. But Cody took his goal well.
Clever Farke 64 Posted March 10, 2009 Strange that he''s hardly had a look in up to now because of his rave reviews elsewhere but hopefully he will stay in now. Sounds like just the player to make us tick. Maybe it was gunny''s masterplan all along....?
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,749 Posted March 10, 2009 It does beg the question, where the hell has he been since we signed him at the end of Jan?, It couldn''t have been a questionof lack of fitness because he was playing for Blackpool from August until then. To think that we''d been persisting with Cureton all that time - I just hope we haven''t found what we have too late.
Grando 260 Posted March 10, 2009 It''s great that Gow and Mooney played so well, but sadly (on tonight''s showing at least) they''re not actually our players. Still if they do somehow keep us up then we can worry about that at the end of the season...
