Norwich v Forest - pubs in Sheffield showing game???

Hi ALL

I have a reunion with mates in Sheffield on 22nd November and desperately want to watch the Norwich game in a pub.

Does anyone know of any that will be showing it ??? Due to Man U and Villa playing on Setanta I doubt many will be.

ouch you may have to look around hard to find one which does, your best bet is to find pub/club/sports bar which has access to showing several sky channels at once

bad enough clashing premier game let alone manutd as well

I''ve never been to this place myself, but it sounds like what you might be looking for.  Atmos might be rubbish, but you should get to see the game.

Yes good shout if you ring up and ask a barman nicely they will make sure that they stick it on one of the tvs for you mate. I lived around the corner a couple of seasons ago and they generally didnt mind as long as you dont ask them at five to three, gets busy in there. I suggest giving them a call at noon and they will find one tucked in the corner for you.

Alternatively, The Scholar on London Road have several screens and have been known to stick several different things on. If you have a couple of mates then this would be better.

In fact, I live in Sheffield and would be up for watching this game somewhere, so would one of my mates.... So if you find anywhere then there a two or three of us that could come. They would be more obliged to show the game if there is four or five people buying drinks i should imagine.

Where do you live in Sheffield? See what Champs say, and if not I might be able to sort something if you are really really desperate.... This would entail coming round to my student digs on London Road and sitting in my messy living room though!

sod a pub.. try a cyber Cafe.. you might laugh but theres food, drink, and computers so you can watch a live high quality stream on the internet. and its only 90 minutes isnt it... Hardly going to cut into drinking time that much.

The Old Crown on London Road will show the game if u get in there early enough and ask them, it''s a small, friendly pub thats almost a shrine to sheffield utd so they''ll welcome any fan that plays against forest! I''ll be in there with my housemate who''s a forest fan so we''ll be having some banter! the more the merrier!

If I remember rightly from 14 years ago the Old Crown is a BBC pub. Now, having them gate crash a party i was at the day them got relegated from the Prem, I think I''d rather miss the match ! Especially after that crock of ***** performance today.

Apologies - got to this thread late. 

Unfortunately being this close to ManUre I have a feeling that most pubs will chase the cash and show that.  You seem to know Eccy Road so perhaps trying a bit further along and ringing the Pomona or the Varsity might yield dividends.  Another venue might have been the Psalter Tavern but that is a bit off route and I don''t know the landlord anymore - previously the old one would have put it on for me.  He''s now at the Porter Brook but the screen there is no good for watching footie.  I''ll continue to ask around and let you know, including in Town.

Hi Shefcanary - thanks for the info. Psalter Lane Ttavern would be a good venue. I believe our pub crawl is starting at the Broadfield and then moving towards Hunters Bar area. One of our lot used to be assistant manager at the Nursery so is going to ask there. I have a feeling they will be showing the Mank boys too. I just need to find that gem of a pub who refuses to pay Setanta rates.
