Robbo007 0 Posted August 20, 2004 I still can''t work out why on earth we have 3 international keepers. Being honest there is no way Rob Green is not going to be our number 1 keeper. It therefore begs the question why the other 2 have joined. Gallacher joined to provide competition for Green, although he must have known that he would be backup. Berti Vogts said on Wednesday though that he needed to give the other scottish keepers a try as Gallacher is not playing. As for Ward, i really don''t think we needed him. What has he got to gain from being third choice keeper?? - he sure as won''t feature in many Welsh squads from now on.I believe therefore that there is a clause in Greens'' contract that allows him to move on if a) we get relegated, b) don''t achieve a certain position in the table, or c) if he is not featuring in the England squad whilst at us.Gallacher has joined on the understanding that he will provide backup this season, with him taking over the number 1 jersey next season - be that in the premiership or div 1Ward has joined for similar reasons as Gallacher, believing that his prospects as a premiership number 3 are greater than a div1 number 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

rainbow 0 Posted August 20, 2004 there will be a BIG bid in for green from one of the major teams within the next nine months and it will be in the region of 6m! so worthy is proved to be one of the shrewdest managers around by getting in two very talented replacements for greeno. we could still end up keeping him though if we are doing well in the premiership. After signing his new 3 year deal a couple of months ago he said: "All im interested in is norwich. I dont mind if i dont get called up to the england squad im only interestind in norwich getting the three points.
