Yellow Rider 0 Posted September 18, 2008 We all knew for months that we needed strikers as an essential part of the GR rebuilding process (although I totally agree that other areas of the team must contribute goals as well and that has not happened from a Norwich side for years!). With the window slammed shut we have four:Siberski - far too early to judge yet but if he does have all this ''class'' that GR (and many fans) bang on about then let''s get him involved so that he can bring others in to the game. Last night, first half in particular, we were back to hitting this ''big man'' with long balls - and got nowhere.Lupoli - looked very lively ''early doors'' (sorry - a Worthless phrase) last night but the Italian habit of dissent and diving will impinge his acatual worth to us unless GR can get him to cut that out. Dangerous when in full flow but I''m not convinced he is an out and out striker.Cureton - I was a great fan of Jamie''s when he came back to us but his confidence suffered last season with all those misses and he is now destined as a ''bit part'' player only this term.OJ - what the hell is this one all about? He is a raw, completely unproved striker (not in itself a problem) but GR seems already to have made his mind up about him as he can''t get on the pitch even when we''re losing and a striker is taken off!! With no reserve team fixtures to speak of anymore I can''t see him even retaining match fitness levels. My view is that we are appalingly weak in terms of quality, reliability and depth in the strikeforce and that will be the key to our prospects this season. The defence looks better and there is plenty of competition at least across the middle of the park but (unless David Bell can be the messiah), these areas of the team are impotent in terms of contributing goals. So that leaves our ''strikeforce'' - I''m worried!

Yellow Rider 0 Posted September 18, 2008
Five - Russell.
Yeah - that''s what GR would have you believe. Truth is Rusty will play honestly in whatever role GR asks him to but, at the end of the day, he is a central midfielder - end of. The fact that GR shoved him upfront whilst leaving TWO of our ''stikers'' on the bench speaks volumes about either their ability or his faith in them - hence my concern.
