Who's in? Who's out?

Recommended Posts

My apologies, but I''m getting a little lost as to who is currently left in the City Squad.  I''m aware of a couple of notable players no longer with the team, but I''m lost as to who has signed, is going to sign, or has been seen in Asda?!

Could anyone give me a simple breakdown of losses and (possible) additions to the squad since the end of the season?

Many thanks.

Pardon me for not being up to speed, but I''ve been lost in a world of online poker for a few months... sssshh

ok with the help of Flown the nest here is a rundown of our current squad.total 15 players.

David Marshall

Jon Otsemobor

Adam Drury

Jason Shackell

Lee Croft

Jamie Cureton

Luke Chadwick

Matthew Gilks

Mark Fotheringham

Simon Lappin

Darel Russell

Matty Pattison

Robert Eagle

Gary Doherty

Chris Martin

Goalkeepers look covered, marshal+gilks

the squad is lacking at the moment cover at l+r back and central defence,if the doc fails to sign we will need another centre back..

on left midfield we have lappin with eagle as cover, not particullarilly strong area but roeder has hinted this is a position he will be bringing some one in

in the centre its a three way choice between fozz, russell and matty patty.fozz might yet need replacing

on the right croft and chadwick,

and up front we have JC and Martin.no cover

Ermmm, I don''t think you are going to have Mr Gilks once the transfer season opens.

Who needs gilks, we''ve got declan rudd! Lappin probs won''t be there long. I''d like to keep him simply to keep squad no''s up. Doc and Fozzy haven''t agreed deals yet, and nothing indicates they will, although i''m hopful. At worst, we could end up with just 11 senior players, including Martin and Eagle in that. In a nutshell, we''re f****d! the board NEED to show the money! It would pain me to see us in League 1 :-(

Its worrying that the foundations on which roeder will have to rely to build a squad when the window open appears so shaky,

Yep you''re right about Rudd, thats 16.

I think you are right about Lappin,he''s fallen so far of the radar since plymouth i think if motherwell could muster up a nominal fee he would be on his way.

The longer the Doc and Fozzy saga draws on the less likely i feel it will be for them to sign. Our negotiating hand weakens as the new season approaches.

If Gilks does leave then it makes the decision to release Arnold seem a little strange,Is Rudd ready to be our second choice? BTW its Funny only the other day Cam was telling people not to listen to transfer rumours, but here he is spreading some of his own, most odd!

I don''t think a front pairing of Cureton and Martin are going to worry to many defences next season.

I think the idea is that he will ask to go on the Transfer List - where to after that obviously depends on who comes in.

yeah i think your right there, he had a loan request turned down in january and his wish for first team football is pretty well publicised. I think Roeder rates him too highly to let him go though, otherwise i think we would have kept Arnold as cover.

Thanks for all that.  I''d forgotton about Lappin, as most have!

I see that Fozzy has signed for (only) another year. Surely that means we will have the same problem at the end of next season ie. will he stay or will he go?  I notice some would like him to leave, but I can''t see a large/solid squad being built that quickly that could dope with yet another loss of a key player.

Other than that, we are a bit light all over the pitch... so no promotion on the horizon yet.
