Taxing 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Just read the following on Google news and I now understand why NCFC attendances are so high. Nothing to do with the quality of football, no connection whatsoever with the fact that there is nothing else to do in Norfolk on mtach days/evenings, no, it''s the Delia effect !! (just joking of course, honestly..) Intersting to read the criticism "She''s clearly gone commercial" - good for Delia and long may she reign ! """ The so-called ''Delia effect'' started an egg obsession, boosting sales by an extra 54 million.Cranberries and capers were also mentioned, and both enjoyed similar success.Among the ingredients in her latest book are some unexpected entries.McCain oven-ready frozen chips and Aunt Bessie''s frozen home-style mashed potato both make the menu. As do most of the main supermarkets, each with an own-brand product name-checked and endorsed.Delia has even produced a little orange sticker to help shoppers find the products."I''m not sure I''d buy frozen mash when you can make it so easily," one shopper told Sky News. But others were more impressed."I probably will try what she says, of all the TV cooks she''s the most straight forward and down to earth," another said. The book is already topping the best-seller lists, but her pick of products and name-dropping of supermarkets has been raising a few foodie eyebrows. Some smaller retailers are not impressed. The Guild of Fine Foods represents independent, specialist food stores and producers. Its Chairman, Bob Farrand said: "The industry as a whole is slightly angered by some of the products she''s chosen."Many of our members are asking what is she thinking of recommending people to buy mass produced food like this? She''s clearly gone very commercial."

She has a new book out and needs to promote it. Do you actually believe that back in October she was foresighted enough to ask the publishers to delay the release until we were in the position we are now? I despair of some of the FMs on here, I really do....

This book would be promoted whatever the state of NCFC. It''s going to make more money than NCFC, too.
garyspruce 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Jas some times your hatred for delia makes you look quite stupid, this book and the programe hasbeen planned since last summer , and why do you think she is doing it, because she needs the money? She has stated several times that the team needs more investment . I think even you may be able to work it out.Jas what ever you may think delia doesn,t need norwich to help sell her cook books , but at this moment intime norwich still needs her ,unless you know this investor ready to take over.
