XXL16 0 Posted May 2, 2007 We should have a scout and what did they do? They did not do their job well and see the player of the season we had: Shacks was from our academy, Dion, free transfer and I didn''t think the scout recommend him and Hucks of course, our player for ages. Our new recurit seems not doing well for us in this season, should we have to sack the scouts now? Or what''s the problem?
taintedtom2000 0 Posted May 2, 2007 The only thing more confusing than your post is the inclusion of Daryl Sutch in your list of favorite all time players!
blahblahblah 2 Posted May 2, 2007 To be fair to the scouts, they are only young, having recently left the cubs, and they have trouble adjusting to the new woggles. Their tent pitching skills need a bit of improvement, guy-ropes are a bit tricky at 3 in the morning when you need to find the portaloo, otherwise I think they do a decent job.Oh. Master J-Do Pur 0 Posted May 2, 2007 Shackell would have been scouted to be invited to the academy. Also, Lappin was a good purchase and no-one had heard of him. A lot of the youngsters coming through look far better than the ones coming through a few years ago, suggesting our youth scouts are improving. The majority of use of scouts is around the finding of a youngster, rather than someone who can come straight into the team

Syteanric 1 Posted May 2, 2007 its because Sutch is seen as being complete crap in the eyes of most city Fans David. having said that u cant fault his loyalty to the club. he spent almost 15 years here as a player (including as a youth), he stuck with us through finishing 3rd, the european run, relegation from the premiership, and the years of struggle that ensued until the playoff final. And credit to him he put his neck on the line to take a penalty at cardiff.... ok he missed... but it spoke volumes of him for his guts and heart to step up when other better players were shirking away. He wasn''t a good player at all though. but deserves credit for his loyalty as i have said.jas :)
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted May 3, 2007 Ah! The Boy Scouts Blah. Cheery campfire racist songs like ''Polly wolly doodle;'' trustworthy strapping middle aged men named Arkela taking us young boys to remote places in Derbyshire; yearly weeks of being taken advantage of by people with untidy garages or unweeded gardens for 5p a time......it makes my Ging Gang Goolies tingle just thinking about it.
