irishcanary 0 Posted March 20, 2004 City fans sang throughout today, what is NW reason for us not playing well the first half today, it can''t be the conditions as palace played ok. I spoke to one player this week (who will remain nameless) he asked me why the fans were worried he said to me "what crisis we are ten points clear" I was gob smacked by his complacency and arrogance. Maybe thats why we only play in the second half
FinnCanary 0 Posted March 20, 2004 Yep, great response from the fans once again. Our supporters sang from start to finish. I watched the game on telly. 1st half was lousy from us. Why we play just the other half not two. But the support was awesome keep it going, proud of ya all!
Archie 0 Posted March 20, 2004 irish canary i am not sure whether he is being complacent, simply asking why all the supporters are being edgy - i can understand it if he would prefer us all to have confidence as that would give the team confidenceanyway today the fans were brilliant, hardly edgy at all
gazzathegreat 0 Posted March 21, 2004 to all of you (and staff at the club who might be concerned about this, Mr Worthington) we were magnificent yesterday, from start to finish, we stood there (congratulations to the invisible stewarding by the way, glad i know my way around selhurst, otherwise would never have found my seat) and sang throughout, it must have looked an awesome sight from the other stands, and i hope worthy and co could hear, but maybe not, it was quite windyit was a long journey, in fact it took me as long to get to croydon as it did to cardiff last week, why we had to go through numerous high streets (by police order apparently) instead of the best and quickest route, god (or croydon borough council) only knowsI haven''t heard the official line as to why we lost yesterday, and i hope there isn''t one, after all worthy is not joe royle and shouldn''t try to emulate those wonderful excuses for not turning up, we weren''t that bad, but again didn''t get anywhere in the first half, due i suspect to too many people playing out of position (where was brennan, is he still injured?), as for henderson, he is not a winger and a young lad like that should not have to deal with playing and trying to get past people when his main attitribntes are closing in on goal (re the goals he has scored already). I understand hucks is playing through a rib injury at the moment and he was taken out time and time again and got no protection (as usual)the conditions were bad, but palace managed better than us, rather like the sun at bradford on opening day!!! The situation has clearly got to the team, but never fear, we will still do it, shame it can''t be in style, you don''t lose all the flair and dominance in a couple of months, if we can beat teams away in november and december, we can in marchi for one, am very proud to be a norwich fan and yesterday the numbers did look great, how many other clubs would have taken that number to a league game? So much for not showing our supportand yes, i am still angry about the remarks made against us last week
irishcanary 0 Posted March 22, 2004 Spot on Gazza, i like you will always be proud to be a Norwich fan, and despite keeping my comments to myself i was put out by NW having a pop at the fans last week. At palace the fans turned up in the first half, unlike the team and even clapped and cheered them off at the end. If things continue like this i can only see us winning 4 of our last games, i pray god i am wrong. So does Mrs Irishcanary i am still upset over Saturday, and there is no mid week game to cheer me up this week. I wonder if the players know how the fans feel after a defeat. Tufnell Park Canary 0 Posted March 22, 2004 I thought the City fans were brilliant on saturday - we cheered them on even though the team gave us nothing to cheer about!
mistersparkle 0 Posted March 22, 2004 yes the crowd was fantastic on saturday but what a massive difference standing up for the whole game makes. if the people at carrow rd had any sense we would be made to stand from now on - it frees people up. no chance tho is there especially up the river end? gazzathegreat 0 Posted March 22, 2004 yeah, standing up was great, but unfortunately not for everyone, there was a young family behind me and the mum was getting really upset as her two sons (approx two and four) couldn''t see a thing. I had the younger one on my shoulders for some of the first half, until dad appeared, thank goodness, it seems a long time since i have had to do something like that, boy is my left shoulder sore now lolthey paid the same money to see the game, but couldn''t, have to admit i couldn''t see much, but i love standing at games, two in a week, with cardiff (real terracing there). I understand some disabled supporters had a hard time there toowhat we need is some dedicated terracing - i will never be convinced seating is safer and rules and laws can be changed. If you are tall there is no seating anywhere wear you can sit comfortably at a football and the atmosphere was (and still is) better standing. But we all know, in today''s health and safety conscious world, it is a thing of the past, shame really.
