komakino 282 Posted November 27, 2006 I''ve got a feeling that if the players continue to ignore the way Grant wants his football to be played, then he might just bail out.The general apathy among some players is incredible - just going through the motions until they are sold or their contract ends. If Grant realises that for all his efforts NCFC are a lost cause under his domain, then he could simply walk away. I wouldn''t be atall surprised if this happened - and soon. shyster 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Break it down for me, Komakino, what is it exactly that Grant wants from his players? Let''s take Huckerby, for instance - he wanted Huckerby to get back & help Drury out, rightly so, and the request has for the most part been fulfilled - so next up, Grant sticks Huckerby on the right-wing, where he''s also previously fielded Hughes, which I''m sure you''d agree, were both unfathomable moves.Believe me, I''m not making excuses for players lacklustre displays, but don''t you think that the managers super trap & tactical ineptness might be playing some measurable part in players below average performances? ronbol ronbol 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I hope so, please walk away today MR GRANT you are a disgrace.
Cheeky Monkey 0 Posted November 27, 2006 It wouldn''t surprise me either. But after Saturdays comments I''m not sure I care.Another season to write off. It''s becoming quite boring really.
komakino 282 Posted November 27, 2006 I don''t know why Huckerby was placed on the right-wing, as traditionally he has never performed as well on that side. Usually its more of a desperate measure.I''m not sticking up for Grant atall, but it''s clear he wants things played simple and correct but the Ipswich game for example, this was certainly not the case. But whatever else he insists on, it clearly is not being taken on board by the players, hence Grants almost constant criticism of them. His philosophy appears to be ''results over performances'', which is fair enough, but Norwich fans like myself would like results and performances. However, I can''t see that happening too much this season with the current Status Quo.I''m getting down the bookies to see what the odds are of him leaving. It could be worth a fiver... First Wizard 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Oh please Mr Grant, have a strop and leave, I''ve already had a gutful of you.
JohnoBono 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I am predicting a Windass type confrontation with the Board in January where Grant wont be able to do the repair work he wants.
komakino 282 Posted November 28, 2006 Agree with you there Johno. It would give Grant a more credible reason to leave. If that happens, it will be Hunter as caretaker manager fror the rest of the season. Then we really will be in the manure.
Regime Change 0 Posted November 28, 2006 I don''t think Grant will leave. He probably has a huge compensation clause in his contract (like Worthy) in the event of his being sacked.Grant took the job as he saw it as an opportunity to enhance his reputation. If he leaves now taking the job looks like incredibly poor judgement, and unless he went back to West Ham, I think he might find it difficult to find another job.
