Temp the Revelator 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Just a thought, and apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere, but has anybody else noticed this? As soon as an NCFC player gets anywhere near the England set-up, injury strikes. Ok, so Deano had already left us before his injury occured, and that one is a little bit tenuous, but what about Greeno? Before him there was poor old Darren Eadie, who at a time when England simply didn''t have any left wingers (Steve Froggatt played for England, for goodness sake) seemed to be struck down by injury every time he got near the squad. I have not got the time to research anybody before that, but it struck me as odd when Ashton broke his ankle the other day.Wiz, do you know anything about this? YankeeCanary 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Not sure what the facts are Temp but I''m glad we''ve got the West Ham Nursing Home to send them to. We also get paid really good money for doing so too. It''s got to be one of the best deals in the country. Perhaps we shouldn''t talk about it too much before everyone catches on?
CambridgeCanary 0 Posted August 16, 2006 The greatest and saddest hex of them all was poor Kevin Reeves who left here the complete striker with a couple of England caps after a £1m transfer to Manchester City. He was sold because of the financial problems of the club.He had the worls at his feet and should have been the Shearer or Greaves fo his generation but knee injuries wrecked it all. It''s not just England. David Jones was being recognised as the best British centre half when he wrecked his knee playing for Wales
Tumbleweed 106 Posted August 16, 2006 No doubt Alan Pardew would argue that its because Norwich players are all unfit.
Temp the Revelator 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Quite possibly Tumbleweed - £9.25m for two crocks - great business, eh? At least this one can''t be laid at the feet of Worthington though, as there does seem to be a historical pattern emerging here. Thinkng of it, how on earth did Steve Bruce not play for England more often? Especially in the mid 90s when he and Pallister formed a formidable partnership for Man Utd. And Dave Watson of course.... JJ 0 Posted August 16, 2006 Mark Barham was another. Played for England in a very strange summer tour of Australia (1983), and then weeks into the new season, did his cruciate ligaments in. Wasn''t quite the same player again for us and never got another cap.
