James Kent 0 Posted July 15, 2006 Due to our apparant lack of new players at the present time and the question marks over Colin, what about young Spillane to start the season at right back. If his good enough, he is old enough.
InLambertWeTrust! 0 Posted July 15, 2006 Id certainly agree with you there. Spillane has played really solidly in the games he has played in competitive or friendly. Good on you Spillane.

dr livingstone 0 Posted July 15, 2006 isnt he a midfielder, thats the problem we always have playing young players in the wrong places.if he is a right back i apologise
bernie the canary 0 Posted July 15, 2006 I think Spillane would do very well at right back but am sure he would benefit the team more playing in midfield as he has good control and vision. He seems to me to be a skillful young player and could play some lovely through balls for our forwards to run onto instead of chasing hopeful high balls played up to our small forwards. I have no doubts he is going to be a terrific player who will be able to play in a number of positions for our club, please management team do not change his style of play to accomodate hoofball !!
