Sorensen starts at centre back

Why? Hills has been excellent in pre season yet not starting today, have we got another coach who plays players out of position when there are proper options available?

Sorenson has always been known in Denmark as a CB

Is it his best position though?

I don’t think we know. The Danish national team seem to think it is

Im not keen at all on this CB combo. Hanley has looked a liability in pre season. It looks though like this could be the starting pairing next week which is disappointing.

Just saying that McLean was a borderline revelation at centre-half last season and a lot of it stemmed from his ability to come out with the ball. If we want to get Gibbs quality game time and use his athleticism - and McLean is probably the better athlete between himself and Lungi - then I think I can see the logic behind it. One pure stopper, one to come out with the ball and create overloads in the middle. Makes particular sense if a full-back is more cautious, and it looks like Chrisene is more circumspect than Stacey.

Not to mention you'd think Thorup, as a Danish coach, would have some idea of Lungi's skillset anyway.

Sorensen most definitely not a CB but he was a versatile option for emergency cover, and is now injured, yet again.
