The Rewritten Notes From the Boardroom

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon and welcome to Carrow Road for the final match of the year.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our supporters for what has been a very challenging year but is showing signs of improvement of late as demonstrated at Portman Road last week.

From a Carrow Road perspective victory today would take us into double figures for home victories in the calendar year and take our post pandemic home win ratio to 33.3%. We acknowledge that these modest figures must be radically improved going forwards to achieve our objective of reaching the playoffs this season and success beyond.

Of course all supporters are rightly enthused by the extension of our unbeaten run against our arch local rivals to a period of nearly 15 years and we thank our loyal supporters for their vociferous backing on our travels. Please also be assured that the Board will be doing its utmost to consult with all relevant parties in ensuring that public safety of the highest standards is maintained for loyal and well behaved fans.

We look forward to the enthusiastic backing of our loyal away supporters in upcoming challenging fixtures at West Brom, Millwall and Hull City. The latter of these fixtures are on Friday nights and we must salute the excellent example undertaken by Hull City in offering this match at an adult entrance price of £10 which underlines how important it is for Club such as ourselves to engage in sensitive pricing in challenging economic circumstances.

The Board acknowledges this issue as is demonstrated by the pricing structure for our FA Cup tie v. Bristol Rovers on 6 January for which we trust you will be enthused to attend and to encourage the same for our many supporters of the future who can do so for £1 admission on that day.

Equally we look forward to welcoming you all to Carrow Road for another very challenging fixture against Southampton on New Year's Day. Notes From the Boardroom from that fixture onwards will be written by Aunt Erica as it is clear we need to up our game in this respect.
