It was a white elephant, W ham were smart, no one else was realistically interested so they waited until they got the deal they wanted. Blame the planners, not W Ham.

I mean the stadium is a soulless crap toilet bowl with awful viewing and one that was never meant to be a football pitch mind. I do get why they moan about it even more so given how iconic the Boleyn ground was and all

But it was free so they probably should moan a bit less about it
