He’s obviously unhappy and was critical of the performance. That’s good. Can you imagine if he was in denial like our last manager?

Can you imagine if he was in denial like our last manager? True, the question is what does he do…. Our first two games were built on hard work and intensity. We have just had two good breaks and the players look knackered……. And then once we conceded we never looked confident in our ability to get back into it. Canary Jedi 590 Posted February 11, 2023 One of Wagners comments was too many backward and sideways passes and not enough forward. So I guess that’s one thing to work on in coaching

Indy 3,322 Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) After watching highlights, is it another manager trying to fit round pegs in square holes as we don’t have the players he believes can do a job? Dowell has been nominated for player of the month, yet in the last two games and in part in our wins away from home was missing in aspects of his performance, he’s just not very good as a right sided attacking midfielder, he lacks the game to hustle and close down quickly, McLean isn’t a CDHM, he can cover when needed but too often gets caught out, makes rash choices with the ball and then resorts to punting a long ball to nowhere. Maybe Wagner like other managers needs to start to play players best suited to their natural positions and give them a few games to bed in. If you’re going to play with a number 10, move Dowell across and drop Sargent or Pukki, if you want wide players to support your forward then play wingers, if you want a solid CDHM Sorensen is , Gibbs too they are those who play that game, is great on the ball, playing simple passes and if you are going to play McLean he needs to be that midfielder who links up back to front play which I believe Sara is supposed to be. Sometimes those who train best don’t deliver on Saturday, sometimes you need to use the squad you have in their correct positions, maybe Smith and Wagner are too reliant on experience, something I think we can say we’ve all seen. Lastly yes recent signings look to have fallen well short of expectations, Rashica, Tzolis, Sara, Nunez to name four, even the likes of Gibson, Giannoulis have to be questioned why we signed them permanently, maybe on promotion we had no choice as the loan deal had that tied in, but boy! Questions seriously need to be asked from our recruitment team headed by Webber, why are we not signing better players for that £8 million pound per player average spent?
