Graham Paddons Beard 2,431 Posted May 29, 2020 I expect that Covid will mean that the FFP rules will be revisited ? Clubs making losses will blame the shutdown . Has there been any mention of this ?
Canary Wundaboy 1,359 Posted May 29, 2020 Just another way we’ll be unfairly and sadly disadvantaged by being a self-funded, well-run, cost-saving and non-billionaire-owned club.

There have been rumblings from some Championship clubs that have kept to the rules (or say they have!) that Covid losses/emergency funding might be used by the likes of Derby and Sheffield Wednesday to avoid breaking FFP rules or as an excuse for having done so.

Yep, suspect this has given some the ability to hide the fact that FFP has been abused. I'd imagine those that were already under investigation won't have that benefit though as they were highlighted before the virus struck. To a certain degree thought won't every club now be in the FFP situation as the incomes projected won't be seen by any?!

Probably but some clubs would be able to show what the projected income had been, from ticket sales and commercial and catering, and so demonstrate that their loss would have been within FFP if the season had been played to a normal conclusion. Whereas if East Midlands Wanderers, for example, or South Yorkshire Athletic, make a loss that is markedly bigger than the FFP allowance PLUS the lost revenue, then that will be damning, or should be. keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted May 29, 2020 Covid hasn't stopped them being investigated though. And it would be for previous season(s) losses.
