Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,615 Posted May 17, 2020 Who would've thought in the aftermath of the Sheffield United defeat that we'd be here on May 17 with a chance of playing Premier League football next year? It's a funny old game...
Mello Yello 2,572 Posted May 17, 2020 (edited) Actually, there's far more important things to be sorted than if we're going down or who's gonna still be here player wise for next season.... It's 17/05/2020 and the time is 11.13 am. Neppers Tom is up and about, he's showered, shaved and immaculately dressed. He's got his Xbox One Flight Simulator all plugged in and raring to go....Tom's the self-appointed lead pilot & Captain today of this simulated chartered flight which is transporting the illustrious NCFC Board from Norwich to Manchester (including its flight return)....It's a difficult decision time for Tom on which executive aircraft to use? It's the final league game of the season so it's a very special day. Therefore the amount of seats on the luxury jet are absolute paramount?.....It's flying the NCFC Board plus family and invited guests....Yup, seat wise it's gonna have to be the Challenger 605....sorted.....and unlike a real jet, it's a 'User Friendly' low carbon footprint option.... Tom's then gotta do a quick flight plan and a 'stare out of window' weather check. Then it's a mandatory but brief social call to Auntie 'Deals no Deals' just to run it past her to get the official nod, and obtain clear confirmation that all's OK regarding the required and necessary planning and those complicated (but simulated) transport arrangements.... After the uneventful and successful short flight to Manchester airport, Neppers Tom (after a quick stretch type exercise warm up) will again be straight onto his Xbox One and his Pro Evolution Soccer game. It's all set just before the 3.00 pm kick-off to play that crucial away game against Man City....A win and we stay up, a draw and we have to rely on other results of those in the bottom 6.....Tense times, (that planned return flight can just take a back seat).....Our defeat isn't an option.....'CHOCKS AWAY'.....Then it's....'GAME ON'...'TOM!'..... . Surfer 1,547 Posted May 18, 2020 Going down? No we'd be looking forward to who we want keep from this squad and what areas of the team we can strengthen for our challenge for the EPL title. If such thinking is good enough for Leicester, it's good enough for us too ....

If such thinking is good enough for Leicester, it's good enough for us too .... None of Leicester's players were really in demand that summer. Vardy was 28 and he had only scored six Premier League goals, plus 20 in two seasons at Championship level. Mahrez did OK that season, but not well enough for the big boys to look at. Their Player of the Season and the one they really wanted to keep was Cambiasso, but his contract was up and he walked away on a free.
