River End Canary

Came away from yesterday feeling we are on the up

Recommended Posts

Left St. Andrews yesterday thinking we were unlucky to draw the game

More shots on target away from home in this game compared to any last season

Some new signings look good and clear team spirit

The fans responded to all of thIs.

Early days but we could well be the dark horses this season

LDC he could well be get a little bit more direct and speed the play up a bit more and then yes he could become a messiah !

i will still give him 10 games though as sounds like we had to much tippy tappy we had most of the possession and Birmingham still had the same amount of shots than us with much less i dont want us to slip into last seasons style of play again

so was yesterday the new style in parts or was it a one off ?

Farke is part of a transformation at the club.
T talk og giving him ''10 games'' is as silly as saying I give a farmer 10 weeks to produce crops.
So far the club has averted possibly a disasterous position whereby the club still had quite a number of players on PL contracts whilst it had a Championship income. Remember, we only had two esasons to adjust rather than the usual three. Some still don''t seem to grasp the significance of this.
In the meantime we have found and developed the talents of a number of ''cut price'' players as well as progressing a number of our own you products.
As to yesterdays style hen I would argue that it was no more than one of soaking up the pressure then attacking in the latter third or quarter of the game (56min in this case). That will be seen by most away teams at Carrow Road who will sit back and play possession football.
Yesterday showed we had the ability to score - from a lad who cost us relatively peanuts. And maybe with Lewis, Pinto and a fully functioning Hanley we would have won.
However it is the achievements of Hernandez that Farke should be measured as that is the financial position we are in. And farke is not responsible for that - in fact is actually the answer to that in my mind.

I''m sure we would all want 90mins or so of rip roaring football, but at the tempo much of the game is played I doubt that is possible.
What I think is not so much the passing back and keeping posession is the ''ping pong'' style of one touch passing to and fro, which I would suggest takes more out of us than them.
There does need to be longer passes, some of which will go astray. Players being willing to take on their man and looking to get it into the box quicker.
When we break then go for it, as on a percentage basis we have more chance of scoring with five goal attempts than five back passes.
We shall see.
